...and you had to choose an organic food source for yourself in order to sustain the necrotic energies/immortality sustaining you, what would you consume and why (you can make up a reason if you had to for fluff's sake).

Example: Vampires and blood (lame).

Zombie and brains.

Tyranid and anything that moves.

EDIT: You can also eat intangible things, like emotions and souls.

EDIT2: Sure, eat whatever you like. When you get a bellyache forever, don't come crying to my non-immortal resting place (for a limited time).

Fear. Once my heart stopped beating my body would stop working so I don't see organic food working. And well it's a little more unique of an idea then eating brains or drinking blood to sustain yourself.

I would be sustained by the sacrifice of tea partiers, put them to good use.

Vacuum energy. I can't possibly go hungry until the Big Rip, but my body would have been torn apart by gravitational forces long before that.

Knowledge. When I die, I would know that I know all knowledge of everything. Which will never happen.

Probably nothing. One human lifespan is filled with enough misery, no need to compound that by living until all my loved ones are but memories.

Were I to actually attempt such a thing, I'd probably eat regular human food that I really enjoy. Reducing stress on my immune system by eating foods that make me happy probably has more benefits to lifespan than any pseudo-scientific method which may or may not involve sustenance from something that can't even normally be consumed.

Personally I would like to be able to take years away from other people in order to preserve my youth, that way I could be both young and everlasting. Also I would like to be able to give eternal youth to loved ones as well.

I would consume people's ability to sleep.

Thus after I had fed on them, they would be perptually awake, slowly descending into a world of madness and unrelenting terror as their mind splintered and cracked from the lack of sleep, inevitably resulting in their death -- though few would survive to die of exhaustion, most would take their own lives.

Meanwhile, because I had consumed all their potential sleep, I would never need to sleep myself, yet would suffer no ill effects from it.

So I could actually get all my damn miniatures painted.

I need the tears of orphans to sustain my nightmarish existence now!! Forget after immortality.

Personally, I would eat hope. It's what everyone ultimately clings to when the chips are down, so I'd like to yank that out from under them as well.
