Most people just plug their blogs endlessly. There's actually a discussion about blogs right here in Dakka Discussions.

If it's a painting blog, post good paintjobs and redirect to your blog for more. If it's a tactics blog, post in the tactics forums and link back for more, etc.

EDIT: There's also this one, which is easy to follow but some people need to hear anyway: Don't be a tool! Some people don't realize that posting jerkish things on forums won't get people to read their jerkish posts on their blogs. You seem pretty cordial though, so you should be alright.

+1 for SRM's suggestion. That's what usually gets me to check out a blog. While I lean more towards the articulate (and preferably humorous) crowd, I'll check out damn near anything linked back to a blog if it's a continuation of a useful contribution to a thread on Dakka. If you're a mediocre painter that took the time to make a tutorial and you post a few images in response to a question in the P&M forum, I WILL look at the whole tutorial, if there's a nice link at the end.

Wouldn't hurt to add the proper url tag in your sig line, either. It seems like a niggling point, but active links change color and draw the eye. People are more likely to click a link than copy+paste a url into their browser, especially one that they'll only see if they read your sig line. Plus, proper formatting makes it appear as though you care about presenting your thoughts clearly and cleanly, which may help draw in the slightly pickier readers.

That's top advice from both Brother SRM and oadie right there. I heartily agree about the active link point ... never under-estimate the laziness of surfers.

It shortens your sig, but some people like to know what link it is they're clicking.

It would also help if you spell check what you write as well as use proper punctuation and grammar. If your posts appear sloppy then you're probably not going to get many people to take you seriously.
