Well actually they are the gun you put to your opponents head.
Myself it use a very Death-Star Style Pack
Wolf Guard Battle Leader @ 200 pts (Runic Armor; Wolftooth Necklace; Jump Pack; Wolf Claw x2; Saga of the Warrior Born)
Wolf Priest @ 155 pts (Runic Armor; Wolftooth Necklace; Jump Pack; Bolt Pistol x1; Crozius Arcanum x1)
Skyclaw Assault Pack @ 220 pts (Bolt Pistol x9; Chainsword x8; Power Weapon x1)
-1x Skyclaw w/ Mark of the Wulfen (Chainsword x1; Meltagun x1)
Total Roster Cost: 575
I know it is a lot of points and 2
HQs, but basically I don’t use this on any list under 2,000 points. I use them to go after “Soft Targets”.
HQs, Large Infantry Formations, Heavy Weapon Squads like Devastators and ect. I only have the Melta-Gun as a Anti-Vehicle Weapon because they usually draw the attention of a Dreadnaught or Something, though I am thinking of just replacing it with a Flamer.
I put them in either reserve to “Deep Strike” them into the rear for “Counter Assault” or use them along with my Swiftclaws to pull a “End Run” supporting my other Blood Claws and/or Grey Hunters. They are great for breaking infantry units or at least tying them up for a turn or two.
Just don’t Hunt Vehicles with them unless you give them a Character(s) with Thunder Hammers, Power Fist or Melta-Bombs and even then they are not very Good at it. If you get luck you may pop a Transport and get to the soft squishy part, but don’t count on it.
With a Wolf Priest and the Right “Oath of War” makes them great Monster Hunters.
The best way to think of them is as Very Mobile Blood Claws.
