say i wanted to take a squad of 8 chosen and a dedicated transport. would i be able to transport all the models that i bought the transport for or would that be considered illegal? I would like it to hold the models but if thats not the case then oh well.

Victory is not the most important outcome. Enjoyment and excitement is the best outcome, victory is sweeter when it was fun.

Kill team has some funny rules. Since everything is seperate with no built in provision to join models together, then I guess by absolute RAW you could only carry 1 at a time. HOWEVER, Kill team is a fun, narrative driven game type. Thus, feel free to house rule it.

I use quite a few house rules myself. 1: Models can join and leave other models like ICs--this lets you mount up in a vehicle, and give some ablative wounds to important models. 2: You must have 3 models minimum, and at least 3 uniquely equipped models. Thus no 5 THSS termies, as they fail the 3 unique model rule, and no Ven Dread single model kill team, as you must have 3 seperate models. 3: I use the 3 free USRs from the main Kill team description.

Aren't vehicles illegal in Kill Team?

Vehicles are not illegal in kill-team. As Devian said, RAW only 1 unit may ride at a time (even at deployment), but feel free to house rule it.

My friends and I use a fairly fluid system of house rules, which boil down to "rule on the spot for anything that breaks the game" and "don't be a dick".

Also, @Devian: I presume you don't play against Daemons, since your house rules severely limit their kill-team options. Just some food for thought; if it's working, then it's not an issue at all

I think you have to be pretty mean to include a vehicle of any Av in a game of kill team. Just a quick thought.

I've played Kill Teams only a few times, but I don't think bring an AV would be a horrible thing. It encourages people to bring balanced Kill Team lists, if anything. In theory, you can have possibly up to 4 AV's on the board, but because of the small point allotment, you can probably bring in 2 AV's, in a practical list. And even then, the highest front AV you'll probably see is 13, which is quite workable to play against.

I like bringing at least one Melta or Plasma weapon in my lists, to keep up the versatility. Of course, you can just "house rule" it like other people do, and just limit yourself to a certain number of AV. Play around with the limitations, and see what you think is most fair.

we house rule that the transports can carry upto there transport limit.
but dont group models as it really makes it interesting cos each assault ends and is finished with 1 kill, that way you need models that can survive after winning an assault and are standing in the open.
I have 2 main fav lists, either 3 tau xv8 suits (jet packing is fun in kill team) or my IG is Vets in chimera with 2 scout sentinals 1 with multi laser one with auto canon.
my cheesy list is a vendetta with vets inside. quite good to have 3 twin linked las flying around the table but not greatly in the spirit of kill team for me.

A model is a unit so only one can fit in the vehicle at a time...unless of course there are attatched independent characters.

Vehicles are illegal in some versions of kill teams...sometimes only walkers are allowed.
