ok so i really want to do an army based on either Aaby or Ind but as gw only has 1 model for Araby and thats some old school fat merchant dude im certainly not going to have an army of him. The only other models are in warmaster. So i was wondering if anyone knew any sites where i could get heads with Turbans or ones that looked like they would be from eastern countries of the world namely India and any Arab countries. Also models for camels and Elephants would be good. I know Lotr has camels but they are too small to fit fantasy sized models. And no i am not using a Mumak from Lotr it is simply too big.
Im also stuck on what Army to use them as. i originally thought High Elves but now im considering Brets. what army do you think i should you as the basis for my Araby army? keep in mind it would need to have both fast and medium-heavy cav aswell as a unit of fliers

Perry Brothers makes the best Arab figures, followed by Gripping Beast and Artizan (Moors/ El Cid). Magister and Old Glory can provide filler for the larger foot units.

Here's a guy that pretty much did all his Araby with conversions from existing Citadel line, making it legal for whatever events are restrictive in that sense:
http://warhammer.org.uk/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=74013&p=937418&hilit=araby#p937418
Pretty damn cool, but looks like it was an awful lot of work... I've thought a lot about an Araby army too, but can't quite settle on how I'm going to get it done.

Elephant is still not GW. Hopefully it'll look so cool they'll let it slide!

Yeah, but that's the only exception I see- and it has GW figs on the back, so maybe it'd still be good to go?

Maybe you can find some inspiration in the fan made army book Araby:
http://battlereporter.freeforums.org/araby-warhammer-fantasy-battle-army-book-pdf-t2374.html
(Discussion: http://battlereporter.freeforums.org/araby-t2231.html
other fan made army books: http://battlereporter.freeforums.org/warhammer-army-books-fan-made-unofficial-f88.html )
Miniature-wise you probably won't get 28mm heroic ones without massive conversions. Historicals prefer 25mm or 28mm non-heroic, so the smallish Haradrim from LOTR are maybe your best choice. Hey, they are still taller than Dwarfs, Skaven and Goblins

That army book is just beautiful.
If GW released an Araby army it would really help them penetrate the fledgling ME market.

I assume your doing a "Counts as" with Empire?
you could greenstuff turbans over all the state troops and have all your Knights be Knights Panther and stay away from Gunpowder aside from cannons.

Way back when I always wanted to do an Arabian Night Goblin army.
They already come with robes; wolf riders on carpets, trolls with fez, purple djinn giant, hash fuel fanatics and yellow moons become red crescents.
