If you have more than 1 wizard in your army, can they both take the same spells?

Example: Wizard Lord 4 Spells of Light - Spells # 1 2 3 4
Battle Wizard Lv 2 - Spells 2 3
War Altar - Any 1 Spell from Light at bound lv 5

Can you only cast 1 unique spell per magic phase? Or 1 spell per caster?

Also if you have a spell currently still on a unit that remains in play, that spell cannot be recasted without it being transfered to the new unit?

1) CLearly explained in the rulebook, under choosing spells (magic lores, page 490 ish from memory)

Dakka isnt a place to ask for wholesale rules

2) you can attempt to cast each spell the wizard has, and is also answered by 1) above

3) if another wizard is able to cast it then it would be on two unts. IF the same wizard as cast it initially recasts the spell it would end

Speaking of taking a level 4 and a level 2 of the same lore, you can use the level 2 to ensure the level 4 gets what you want by first rolling the level 2's spells, then taking the rest with the level 4.

Let's use Lore of Death as an example. You decide that your level 4 must have purple sun so you can auto-win the game in style, so you first roll the level 2. If he rolls purple sun (or any other spell you'd rather the level 4 have), drop it to the signature snipe spell. Then the level 4 goes and takes all that are left, with the option of dropping one to the signature sniper as usual. Result!

Thanks Boss, thats the whole reason I asked the question. I wasnt sure if someone could jerry rig their wizards to get the spell they wanted, besides taking magic items that enabled them to choose specifically.

No problemo. With your light example it would work out:

Level 4 #1,2,3,4
Level 2 #5,6 (with a drop to 0 if desired)

OR

Level 2 #2,3
Level 4 #1,4,5,6 (with a drop to 0 if desired)

I just realized that in my previous post it isn't quite so simple if the first caster takes the signature spell. In that case you would roll the dice for the second caster, but any doubles or any rolls of what the first caster rolled would result in a choice. So essentially you're still very likely to get that one spell you really really want, plus most of the rest of the lore.

To return to Death, about the only case where you don't get purple sun is a version of this:

Level 2 rolls 1,X and takes #0,1
Level 4 rolls 2,3,4,5 and can only take #0-5

The way to be totally sure of what the level 4 gets (without loremaster) is to not roll the desired spell and not take the signature spell on the level 2, but the probability involved in the worst case is pretty steep!
