so i am getting into fantsy and decided to get into the skaven so far i have:

88 clan rats
2 rat ogres ( i think these will be my favorites and hope to get more down the road)
1 warlord
1 warlock engineer
1 skaven master moulder
1 warpfire thrower
1 poison wind mortor
31$

lol dont even have the codex yet
so i will probably get that with the 31$
but what i really want to know are tactics, good equiptment choices for my heroes clan rats and every thing else, what should i get next a battalion another island of blood to split or other thing like a bell a doom wheel, is it a good idea to do a 10x5 with clan rats, should i make and abomination thing

so as you can see i need help i somewhat know how to play thanks to the beast of war on youtube
so thanks for any help

Slaves are great to tarpit. Run them naked or near naked for a HPA or Doomwheel to smash into the side. Also make good holders for a WFT to shoot at

Yea you can do that. Also you cannot run two rat ogres in a unit you have to have at least three. Slaves are always a good buy so used mixed h.w. and spears so you do not loose track of them. and a hpa is an amazing rare choice that will knock your opponent into a pulp.

You got a good start. This is one reason I don't like them putting armies in the Fantasy starter set. You get some stuff but not a lot. I play Skaven. You want Plague Censor Bearers, Plague Monks. A plague priest on the Plague Furnace is a must. Oh yeah HELL PIT ABOMINATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For Rat Ogres I think a unit of 6 is good deployed 3x2.

Why can't he run 2 Rat Ogres?
Something I am missing?
But yes in a perfect world I would run them 5/6 in 3x2 with max number of packmasters

You really need to sit down with the book and figure out how you want to run your skaven. There are so many different possibilities on how to run with them, you have alot of options.

Recommendations though:
1. Skaven rare selections are pretty darn good, with possibly the exception of the Plagueclaw Catapult. I would take a warp lightning cannon or two, as they give you a good ranged attack.
2. Take big blocks of troops - 30 or more is a good number to work with. I would also take a weapons team with each block - I've been running warp fire throwers, but now leaning more towards getting back to Poisoned Globe mortars. Being able to move and shoot, with a decent ability to kill troops with the small blast template is great!
3. Character wise - you need a battle standard bearer! I prefer the Warlord over the Grey Seer, but depending on how many points your building towards you could run both.
4. The Screaming Bell is okay, although I think that the Plague Furnace is slightly better and less random. Where you have to watch out for it though is the frenzied tests to not charge, but if you are within range of your general & BSB your looking at LD 10 twice.
5. Rat Ogres are decent, but can be difficult to work in tandum with your other blocks of troops. Special choices I would go with plague monks or gutter runners. Gutter runners being able to come on from any table edge, poisoned attacks and slings are plain nasty as war machine killers.

Just some thoughts - skaven can be really good, but you have to know how to use them right.

Well Queek is only good with storm vermin and allows them to be even more of a points denial unit. However he takes away points from a really beefed out grey seer on a screaming bell.

I would get a doomwheel and find a way to get some slaves. the zap gun thing is good but If you are going to spend that money you should invest it into a screaming bell. the kit makes it more than worthwhile because you can make two options and it comes with a plague priest and a grey seer.
