Hey Dakka I was wondering if any one here knows about a Hell Pit Abomination model stand in. I like this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/WH-MPG-Converted-Un-Painted-Great-Giant-Rat-Hell-/120555189045?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c11a63335) but I do not want to pay 160 bucks for it and I am really bad with green stuff.

1.) GW has finished the prototype for a HPA plastic kit, no idea when it will be released, maybe in the rumoured second wave next January or February.
2.) There are numerous fantastic HPA conversions floating the net and this forum, have a search.
3.) I own the above mentioned model from Singapore. Excellent model but certainly extremely expensive.

The easiest way is to convert one from several rat ogres. Really you cant go wrong with the GS of that thing, its supposed to look hideous.

A local player here converted one using the Soulrender (or whatever the 40K demon vehicle is) with a ratty headswap, a little rumble cart and greenstuffing fur on it. Looked pretty cool.

Well I REALLY cant green stuff and do not want to wait to see if a model that games workshop has rumored to have finish comes out. I was kind of hoping for an "X company has a nice conversion and you can find it at link"

Guess I can't help you with your "I want an alternative cheap and ready model now" approach.

It does not have to be cheap it just cant be a hundred and 60 dollar model. Also its not that I cant wait its just that I have seen no evidence that GW has been working on a model and I do not want to just sit around and wait and hope that they actually release one.

When GW makes/releases it be prepared for it to be at least $33 (the new daemon prince) or more.

A guy at my local GW made one from a giant, green stuff, screaming bell (The rolling parts) and minotaur heads. Though he is an expert at converting.

GW's HPA model is finished and seen by Harry and others. So much is confirmed. Just not the release date.
I once bought a Spawn Werewolf ( http://spawn.com/toys/horror/monsters/werewolf/images/monsters_werewolf_photo_02_dp.jpg ) and a Bodysnatcher diorama with a transformed dog and a Giant Hedgehog, all of those could be simple stand ins until then.
