In the tau empire codex, it says that Shadowsun cannot be in the same army as Farsight. To my understanding, Apoc throws the FOC out of the window...and since I have Shadowsun (and can make Farsight) and they would be a very powerful duo.

So can you use both Shadowsun and Farsight in a list, or is it disallowed as the codex says? I'd love to have some kroot support along with a Farsight bomb.

Urdnot Wrex is not just pleased...he's Delighted!

Apoc is what you make it, but if anyone disagrees with you having both...
Take two armies, one led by farsight (and pretty much all your suits), the other led by shadowsun.

It's happened before in our Apoc games where someone has say 2k of chaos, but have started orks, so play with 1k of orcs aswell.
Ive been considering taking my usual 4k of Eldar and spending 1k entirely on inquisition lance strikes...

So is regular 40K. The question asked was about the actual rules.

The Apocalypse rules specify that all FOC limits are ignored, and any restrictions that apply to units in the list are ignored. (Page 18: Pick Army)

SO yes, you can take both of them in an Apocalypse army.

And unfortunately that also means you can take two of the same Phoenix Lord, would that be correct Insaniak?

I'd never do this, and glare at those that try it, but it's legal, right?

This would be a great way to show 'air superiority' to go with the two Nightwings I usually field.

Not sure if I'd field a full 1k, but whatever cost would be for a couple of them.

The best list I saw was:
Inquisitor (Elite) with Null Rod
Rest of points as lance strikes.

You can technically take an entire army comprised entirely of multiple copies of the same Phoenix Lord, because list restrictions do not apply.

Of course, for the other players and/or the game's referee to accept it, you would probably have to come up with some sort of interesting story to explain just what is going on there...

The Eldar player clearly fed them after midnight, then proceeded to drop them in a swimming pool.
