I am a new player, I'm looking at feilding Nobs In my army, I just have a few questions, I know the answers could be subject to a lot of things but, any advice and direction would be great.

1.) At what point value should I start to consider nobs? (1000, 1250, 1500 etc.....)

2.) How many squads should I run? (I'm sure it depends on the points)

3.) Is there a standard build for nobs or is that situational? (Wargear?)

4.) Do Biker Nobs get geared any diffrently?

5.) Always roll a Painboy and Waagh Banner?

6.) What IC or HQ should I be running with Nobs?

7.) Any other general advice or tactics with Nobs?

Again I am open to any and all advice. Thanks!

1. Any point value above 500.

2. I usually only run one, armed to the teeth and with a Warboss leading them. However, running two or three smaller units can also be effective, as even a small unit of Nobz can crush most things in CC.

3. You can mix it up a bit, but the standard is to have every Nob equipped differently, to take advantage of wound allocation.

4. Nope.

5. Yes. Always, forever. Never leave home without those two critical upgrades, unless you're running a three-man suicide squad for some reason. And if you're running a suicide squad, Meganobz do it better.

6. A Warboss, or Doc Grotsnik if you'd like. Grotsnik gives you cheaper cybork bodies, but makes the Nobz very predictable. Of course, they're pretty predictable anyway.

7. You toss them into whatever is valuable and watch it explode. Run a deathstar squad of 10 with an HQ in a BW for protection, or run two or three smaller units in Trukks for turn-two assaults. If you do that, expect to lose them all; as long as they kill valuable things, it's ok.

1 Nobz (Cybork Body; Big Choppa)
1 Nobz (Cybork Body; Waaagh! Banner)

I'd just like to chime in and say that the grot orderly is worth the points as well.

"Fungus beer, Fungus beer, one toof a beer!
'Dis keg's got enuff it fer everyone 'ere!
So let's pull all our teef out!
(Dey'll be back in a year!)
'Cuz you don't need no teef

I used to feel that nobs were a good unit. Having played more and more though I rarely see them making their points back or accomplishing much of anything. I know there is more to the game than making your points back. But everyone and their mom knows exactly how to deal with nobs anymore.

Nobz kill my big bad stuff, or rip through all my not so big bad stuff nearly everytime.

With FNP nothing short of anti tank weapons will outright destroy these guys and even then they can survive.

So imagine it this way, you have 10 little mini tanks that have a better survival rate than most light tanks, who can kill almost any tank, and you can put them in a tank (Trukk or Battlewagon) <- That's the stuff my SM nightmares are made of.

"So that's a box of lootas/burnas (there's only FIVE complete minis in here, and only four of them what you wanted!), a Dark Elf army book and two pots of paint. That will be your first born." - Kirbinator
