Aside from irresistable force and certain abilities, when else does a miscast happen?

Maybe I am blind, but I cannot find it in my rule book at all.

That said, I now ask you all, when does a miscast happen, if it even happens outside of the situations above?

Only IF and other special rules. No double 1 anymore.

Miscast happens on double 6's along with IF you role on the chart after you work out the spell

the BRB only says on double 6 to cast.

individual army books give additional times that it occurs.

Nope only miscasts on double 6 now . . . unless you're effected by some magical item. =D

Check the BRB, pg.32, Not Enough Power. That just means it's always considered a failure just as if you didn't meet or beat the casting cost, albeit not a miscast.

DAH is right, and with the quote to boot. Furthermore, you'll have broken your concentration and won't be able to cast with that magic user again this phase (unless it was a bound attempt).

That's what I was thinking of Red and confused it with miscasting
