New to 5th, in the middle of playing my first few games, this week's game created these questions:

Are the following statements true or false? If they are false, please show me where I am misunderstanding.

1. Infantry, Beasts and Cav, Jump Infantry and Monstrous Creatures draw line of sight from the models head (aka model's eye view)

2. Infantry, Beasts and Cav, Jump Infantry and Monstrous Creatures measure ranged attacks from the edge of each model's base (rules say "simply measure from each firer") to the edge of the the enemy model's base or hull (pictures seem to show it from the edge of the base to the edge of the base).

3. Artillery, Bikes and Jet Bikes and Vehicles draw line of sight from the weapon's mount and along the barrel and it must be within it's firing arc, depending on how it is mounted

4. Artillery, Bikes and Jet Bikes and Vehicles measure ranged attacks from the weapons mount and along the barrel to the edge of the enemy model's base or hull

3) False. Only Vehicles check LOS and range from the weapon only, artillery checks from both gun AND crew for LOS (unless barrage, of course)
4) False, as above

Bikes and jetbikes are not considered vehicles, even if they were in 2nd (from memory)

Two more questions:

1. How does artillery check from both? What if there is a difference?

2. On infantry that are modelled kneeling can they only see what that model sees are can they actually see what they would see if standing?

1. You check that the gunner (at least one) and the weapon have LOS> If you dont both have LOS you cannot fire

2. You can only see what you can ACTUALLY see. this can suck for some models, but thats life.

1. One is line of sight. Is the crew aware of the target? The other is line of fire. Does the shell have a clear path to traverse?
2. Line of sight is drawn from their eyes, regardless of how the model is modelled and it may not be changed after game begin.
