This news is not relevant to weiner dogs. However, they advise that adding a regular "launch a cat for Christmas" interlude wherein cats are launched from a variety of catapults, trebuchets, and mangonels, that they would heartily approve and attend, if they open the door without opposable thumbs of course.
-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG

Dream theatre? isn't that the band with like 5 sequencers playing programmed MIDI guitar notes and a drum machine turned up to 240 bpm? Hendrix would have been very sad to see them go.
Don't worry, there's always Dragon Force if you are into the fret shred thing. And Yngwie is still touring local small town festivals from what I hear.

I'm both chaotic and orderly. I value my own principles, and am willing to go to extreme lengths to enforce them, often trampling on the very same principles in the process. At best, I'm heroic and principled; at worst, I'm hypocritical and disorderly.
@Guitardian: Srsly? :/ Dragon force =repetitive crap, Dream Theater = more skill in one members pinky than most bands combined.
@Thaanos: I have a chance to meet Avenged Sevenfold this weekend so I'm going to ask them. Fingers crossed, I'd love it.

@Cannerus - Not a fan, to be honest. Maybe I've just heard the not-so-good stuff? Care to suggest a good starting point with them? It's late, I've got spotify on and I'm high.
You're never going to get a better chance to make me listen to Dream Theatre, man. Seize it!

Fullscreen that sh**. The video is just as profoundly mind-blowing as the song; combined, they have a synergistic effect.
wait...
WHAT????
So he's ditching the best prog metal band since Tool and joining A7X, who waited, what, like 2 weeks after the Rev died to find a new drummer and started making new material?

Well ACTUALLY... we don't know if he's planning on joining A7X as their new drummer, or if they've even started thinking about who their new drummer will be. A man can hope though...
And if you really knew what the situation was, the Rev died in the middle of recording their new material, and rather than let that album die they asked the Rev's favorite drummer if he'd like to help them finish.

Hate to burst your bubble there chief, but Dream Theater were around before Tool.

Dream Theatre? I've heard panic attack. It's okay. Would never want to listen to it outside of rockband though. Too long and too many notes.
That actually defines the genre. There are a lot of people who think that prog rock and metal is a bunch of pretentious drivel and those who actually listen to the (sometimes) excessively long songs and see it for the aural masterpiece that it is. It's nice to listen to a band that doesn't play exclusively in 4/4 and has key changes in their songs.
...Derp, yeah...
Tool started in 1990, Dream Theater started in '85...
I think I was trying to say that I prefer Tool a bit more than Dream Theatre, but still...derp.

I like Dream Theater but I DON'T like Tool. I don't want to say I hate Tool because it's not quite that, they just don't "do it" for me. However, I get f***ing chills when I watch/listen to the song/video I linked above.

There is your sampling. For first album I'd go with Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence or Octavarium. Octavarium is cool because it repeatedly uses the number 8 in different ways, the album is 8 tracks long and it infinitely loops with itself. It's a pretty balanced record as well in terms of style. Pretty awesome Let me know what you think.
