How should I go about cloth white? I have had experience painting Tau armor plating white, but none when it come to painting cloth white. I am mostly unsure of what to do when it comes to painting the folds in the cloth.
Thanks!

Base coat of white. then I apply a very light wash of Ice blue. I then bring up the edges gradually up to white again. You can see an example in my gallery images of my dire avengers.

You could always shade the recesses with thin coats of something woith a very light shade like Dheneb Stone or Bleached Bone.

If I basecoat it black, Astronomican grey usually works good, then work it up to white. That said, a white basecoat is easier for white.

There are generally two ways of doing white, both armour and cloth. One is to start with grey and work up through the blue-grey shades like Wolf Grey and Ice then finally to a whiter highlight and the other is to start with browns and work up to bone white. Think the difference between clean white and deathwing terminators, one is cold and one is warmer.
Using devlan mud and whatever that blue wash is makes this a million times easier as it saves on the number of coats you need.

Son can you play me a memory? I'm not really sure how it goes... |
