After scheduling conflicts with the last umpteen tournaments, I think I might actually get to attend one.

Could anyone shed some light as to the typical missions and scoring format utilized at The Realm?

Also, does anyone know their stance regarding Nightmare Doll for Dark Eldar?

They use the old GW RTT/GT missions (a mix of the general 3 missions from the book (no wonky missions here) and I believe its the classic minor/major/massacer scoring. I don't know how they rule on nightmare doll, but I will ask the owner tommorow as it's warhammer night.

As Grimbob said, standard GT/RT missions with bouns points.

No comp score. 3 extra overall points for a fully (or nearly fully) painted army, 1 for a half/mostly painted army. 0 for un unpainted army.

I do change things up a bit from tourney to tourney, but nothing too crazy.

I had not had the Nightmare Doll come up before. I would have to say it has no effect for 5th edition. For the RTT though I'll rule that if a DE player wants to take it, it'll add +1 to a siege the initiative roll, with same after effects.

Got home about an hour ago or so. I took first with a Nid army. Second Place I don't know what they were running. Third place went to Tau who I beat in round 3. Decent turnout (15 people?). Oddly only 1 SW player that I saw and 4-5 Chaos armies. It was kinda strange Good time though and very well run tourney. I look forward to the next 40k one!

What list were you running? I'm still tweaking my tournament Bugs. I tell you though, I have been loving running them. They are a lot of fun to play.

Ran really solid. Though the game against Grimgob was close and he would have won on pure KP's but I edged him on the modified KP's. I have to say that the Parasite and a large Gargoyle squad are just plain sick. He only produced 13 stands of rippers all tournament but he was plain nasty with his giant brood

New here, referred by buddy just now.

Sorry for the holdup this morning, what a way to make myself known (I was the dumb butt who forgot to say I was not playing).

That said, wish I had played now, I still had enough pts wysiwyg though not in the fashion of a list I have had any practice with what-so-ever. Also the fact I am still very new to 5th edition, I didn't want to be the guy there who bogged down any games.

All in all I was glad I went and the hospitality of not only the store owner/employee was great, but also all who were there playing. Made me feel like the good ol' days back when I still played a lot.

Be on the lookout for the "Not the F'n Space Wolves" to be making an appearance at a game store open gaming/tourney in the near future!

Thanks to everyone who came by. Nice turnout and some great games. Sorry I had to bail after the 1st round but the wife likes to see me now and again.

As mentioned, Hulksmash took it with Nids,
Chaos Daemons took second
Tau took 3rd.

Erick too lots of photos and may post a battle rep shortly. He played guard and took 5th, just behind Grimgob in 4th.

Players were very close in final points though, with not a lot seperating them.

October'l be fantasy with the next 40k mid November.

I had a great time at the tournament - three fun games against quality opponents. Many thanks for running a super smooth event.

It was also nice to meet some fellow Dakka-ites!

Wow. That looks like 40% terrain.

There was a lot of terrain. And even a fair amount that was actual LOS blocking for large MC's. It's probably part of the reason my bugs did so well
