In the new 5th edition can these two units deploy at the same time but still operate independently of each other?

Why not read the codex and find out? They changed the way Lictors and Zoanthropes worked significantly. I suggest you pick up a codex ASAP if you wish to know the new rules.

I have the codex, . That is just common sense. The reason I am on the forums asking is because it does not say that they operate independently! In 4th edition it clearly states they do. 5th its quite vague.

Does it say they do?

The answer to that is the answer to your question.

No need to be snippy. So either it is or isnt. All it says is that they are elite choices.... that still takes me back to square one. Can they do their own thing independently of each other or not is my question and the vague codex and Mr. Riddler cant answer this either. Anyone else?

Sounds pretty clear to me.

The answer to his question is "no."

Therefore, the answer to your question is "no."

Thanks again. I am now fielding two elite units of Lictors. I think I will beef them up to a brood of 2 each. Currently they are lurking solo but meh.... the new flesh hook rule totally makes up for it!

Don't be so elitist people, he asked a question so rather then give the usual "go find out" response, tell him. -_-

No mate, they act in a brood now hope it helps!

We did tell him. We told him (or her, I have no idea) where to find the clear rules, in the codex.

Giving out rules wholesale causes GW to send Blood Lawyers riding Blood Pandas with Blood C&D's and Blood Fists and Blood Talons.

Incidentally, you should all check out my new Fandex: GW Blood Lawyers.

I'm still at a loss as to what a Blood C&D is, though.

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

GW aren't going to be shutting down Dakka on the basis of somebody saying 'The codex doesn't say they can, so they can't'... which would have been a more productive first answer than 'Go buy the codex'...

Asked and answered.

Moving on.
