What's up with your captain? He's not really kitted out for anything, and who's he gonna go with? He can't keep up with the Assault marines since he doesn't have a jump pack, and there's no room with the pod squads...

Also, 5 ASM, alone without reinforcements are dead. Sure, they might make it to the enemy line, but they'll mulch one squad (maybe) and then get torn to pieces.

Dunno though, maybe it'll work for you. Depends on your meta I guess.

Cpatin is weird. Why a PW and Bolter?

Also agreed about assault, they need to be 10 man

Pod has 12 capacity...

As for the list, i am afraid that hybrid drop list requires quite more pts... You are relying on one melta dread to do the vehicle destruction, but even melta isn't sure hit... It is great if you play multiple dreads and if they come down first turn... But only one, and it is your only anti-tank?

Look what you do first turn... Dread comes down, manages or not to destroy single tank... And one tacs drop, shoot or something(although it is rear these days to have something to shoot out of the vehicle turn 1)... Assaulters move up... Then it is enemy, destroys your dread (even if he survives anti-tanking, it is small chance that he will be able to act next turn), and uses anti-infantry attacks to kick down tacs...

I'd go full drop pod at this pts, without assault marines, and tried to make it more competitive, or drop the pod idea entirely...

As for assault marines, 5 of them can't do much... Will get blown away easily... I'd take one squad (if I would take them at all) of 10, give the sarge PF or LC, add two flamers and voila! You have horde killer unit... Also, I'd drop captain and add chaplain with jump pack if you play assaults...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
If you go drop pod list at this pts I'd try something like this:

HQ: 100
Libby (avenger, null zone): 100

ELITE:450
Dreadnought (HF, MM): 115
+ Drop pod: 35
Dreadnought (HF, MM): 115
+ Drop pod: 35
Dreadnought (HF, MM): 115
+ Drop pod: 35

TROOPS: 410
10x Tacticals (Flamer, ML): 170
+ Drop pod: 35
10x Tacticals (Flamer, ML): 170
+ Drop pod: 35

TOTAL: 1490

You could take 2 plasma guns on marines... Marines can combat squad so once you drop on opponent you split up into heavy weapon team and flamer team, taking down infantry... 3 dreads is scary in 1500pts, but in 100pts it's death from above
I never tried list like this, but at these pts, if I wanted to try something dropy, I would try this...

Alrighty, thanks for the advice, I'll be leaving in about 40 minutes for the game, so I'll tell you how that works out.

Ended up running full Pods, so I had 5 of them. We won the game. I'll post a rep if you want.

What was your final list? I'm curious, because you said dread didn't do anything, so I assume you played only 1....

I ran a single dread, for the 1000 point game it was only one dread since my other one was knocked off the table along with my vanguard by some ignorant d bag. I used the captain in the same loadout I listed and it actually worked well with dropping in with a squad that ambushed some nobz and wrecked them.

I used 10 marines with a melta and missile launcher in 1 pod, then another squad with the same thing in a pod, a flamer with H Bolter, a 10 man assault squad without packs in a pod then my dread alone.

It wouldent have been so bad if my dice rolls didn't blow so much.

I pretty much made a wall around the players deff dread and deff koptas....but didnt hit the dread. So then it charged mine and destroyed it.
