So I bought a few boxes of the scouts for neophytes and have painted one up.... My marines have all the upgrade bits and look the part, but this guy looks basic in comparison

Any ideas? I suppose green stuffing on robes etc may be an idea?

Pics would be great! Thanks

The neophytes are the scout for the templars aren't they? they serve in the tactical squads with true marines dont they? so how are they described as being armoured in the codex? do they need to be scouts as in the nilla codex cause i always pictured the neophytes as being rookie marines lol

Crusading deep in the Eastern Fringe.

Indeed, our neophytes are not "scouts" as other codices refer to them, but actually serve with out initiates, kind of like knights having squires.

Neophytes would look pretty basic in fluff, in my opinion. They aren't allowed to have anything super-flashy on like Sword Brethren, nor do they have the right to decorate their armor. If you want, you can rough 'em up and give them chipped paint and dirty them up to make it look like they've been through hell; I'd imagine that they're trying to prove themselves pretty hard.

No pity!
No remorse!
No fear!

See if you can order some bare WHFB heads, from the brettonians or empire maybe. Those would look a lot more squire-ish than the silly big-chin scout heads with scifi visors and such. I'm sure if you got some more black templar bits those would go on nicely as well. Maybe some WHFB medieval-looking swords to replace the combat knives?
