Hey, Ladies, Gentlemen, Unicorns and Children of all Ages,

I need a hand selecting some Vostroyan Firstborn Units to run as Allies for the Angels Sanguine I have planned. (Check out the Army List in my Signature!). I'm ideally looking for, say, 250 Points of Allied Firstborn. However, I'm not entirely sure what to run. That's why I need a hand from some of you Guard Players.

- I want to be able to use the Vostroyan Sniper Models.
- I don't want to have to buy more than 2 Vostroyan Firstborn Squads.
- I want to be able to use a Vostroyan Command Squad (either as Command or Command HQ).

Sooo... how should I run them?

Vostroyan Command Squad= CCS.

Run the 2 Guardsmen squads as vets.

Run the snipers as ratlings?

I've sold so many armies. :(

Can Snipers be selected for Veteran Squads or Infantry Squads? Is it advisable to do so? I wouldn't run the Snipers as Ratlings. Too expensive, and there only are 2 Models for them. Instead, I might GS some Vostroyan Ratlings, in a similar fashion to these.

Yes, you can have up to three snipers in each Vet Squad, and more in the Command Squad, although you'll probably be using the Company Command Models.

-1 Company Command Box Set (I would recommend an Astropath as well if you have reserves incoming)
- 2 Vostroyan Firstborn Squads
-2-3 Vostroyan Sniper packs (they come in pairs)

You can either field 3 Snipers and a Heavy Bolter each Vet squad; or 2 Snipers, 1 Flamer and a Heavy Bolter. At the end, chucking Carapce Armour is grand if you have the spare points. Their survivability goes through the roof!

it can be but is really not recommended. snipers are really bad, thou i love them, and i love vostroyan snipers! you could use the snipers as count as ratlings. but if that is too expensive, you could convert another sniper, and use them as a support weapon squad, to do that you would need a PCS with two Platoon troop squads, give each a meltagun, no heavy weapon, and you have a cheap few troop squads. if you have more points to add on you can make a pretty good unit but much more points: 5 troop squads with a commissar and a melta and flamer. all sergs and commissar have power weapons, blob the squad, and you have a 50 man fearless squad... with mad PW attacks. you could have the snipers then in the PCS and use it as a fire support squad and to hand out orders to your blob squad. i like blob squads and they are fun to try out.
