Well with the wife hogging the telly all night last night (Big Brother final) I was at a loose end. So I got the first 2 Ogryn painted (3 more to done next night).

I feel...so inferior...

I'm always astonished how fraggin' dangerous these traitor Ogryns look. I mean, normal Ogryns, Ork bosses, SM Captains...they should probably all be dangerous and frightening foes. But these guys...man, I'd just run away screaming for them. For some reason, using oversized mining tools and concrete-on-a-stick as weapons delivers the imagination of pain much better than a gleaming relic blade.

That's why I like these models, and you've done a great job painting them!

Makes me want to go traiter guard.

Very dark and gritty. The ruby-red eyes really pop and complete the models.

Pretty simple technique paint whole of lens a dark base colour (I use scab red) paint a spot/curve of bright base colour to bottom left of lens (I use blood red) dot pure white spot in top right corner. After it all dries put on a coat of Klear/Future acrylic floor polish.

Every now and then I come across models that have such a great balance between painting and conversion work, that I don't need to comment on anything.

These look simply fantastic. I love the rusty look mixed with the drab green tunic, goes great with the contrasting eyes. All the little extra bits just add character, nothing looks out of place!

Insane, the colors are really effectively muted on the cloth and especially the chain. The chain looks perfect.
