I've been reading dark apostle, and the mechanicus are talked about a lot. They have a lot of experimental and dangerous weapons and they seem even more swarmy than guard, I guess.

Would they make a good army for GW to make? I mean beyond techpriests and techmarines, of course.

Discuss?

I recommend using the Tyranid codex! Model them Mechanicus as you like and find entries in the Bug Codex that fit them.

Wait until sales slip and GW needs some cash. Mechanicus is about the only major faction without rules.

Oh, I agree with this too. How else would chaos space marines get anything done?

Also, techno-daemonic spiders seem awesome

Everything I read about the Mechanicum makes me feel like they would be one hell of an army, but so over powered it wouldn't be funny. Also the dark Mechanicum with the daemon possetions would make for cool looking figures.

I think a mechanicus army would make for great conversions, and 3rd party models would be more than welcome.

i've seen some great conversions made using the demon's codex for rules.

i would love for models to be built!

Skitarii would be like IG, but super customisable.

I would relish a Mechanicus faction... Since I went all infantry-horde with my Guard perhaps they'd make a good tread-head army >

Also means GW don't need to release many new vehicle kits... which is something, so an easyish army to make.

But I think the community are a tad sick of Imperial factions, do we need another one? Some more Xenos might be nice.

Knights as a heavy support choice? That would be so cool (and probably overpowered)

Okay, you got me thinking... how about this for a fluffy AdMech force?

That looks like a fun list but I still think it needs more servitors.

I'd play an AdMech list as IG... Skitarii are essentially guardsmen, no? Weapons Teams can be the larger weapons-platform Servitors

Actually, anyone have pictures of an Electro-Priest? I'm wondering what models I could use for those guys. Only thing that springs to mind is Arco-Flagellants, but those don't quite match the descriptions I've heard.

Or, better yet, would Scouts be better suited as Gun-Servitors, with boltguns? 'Cause I could do that instead.

Hodes of servitors . . . Hell yes . . .
Skitarii as elite troops and more vehicles than you can shake a land raider at. Not to mention the ability to repair said vehicles.

I'm rereading mechanicum right now. Its really getting me in the mood to add more of a mech theme to my guard.
