So I'v started a bret army with a templar theme and just finished my 1st knight.

Opinions, criticisms, advice (particularly on how to base them better) are all wanted.

The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Wow, and I thought it's nearly impossible to customize, and make some cool theme for WFB army. You proved me wrong.

Other than the symbol on the shield being a little A-Symetrical I have no complaints. Id possibly give the base a different coloured edge to the centre of the base.

Its a personal preference but as you gone for a brigth sandy colour perhaps edge in bubonic brown?

I just tried bubonic brown and its to greenish so I'm thinking i should keep them as is or else go with a pale brown of some sort.

I did a few of my Knights Errant like this. It's gotta be the easiest way to paint Brets. It's definately the best way to put a decent-looking Bretonnian army on the table fast.

High Elves 4k pts
Dark Elves 3k pts
Chaos Daemons 3k pts

Well done!

Maybe a few tufts of static grass would be good, but it looks great.

I think the painting is nice but now they are even more strongly reminiscent of historicals rather than fantasy miniatures than colorful Brets.

nice. the shading isn't bad at all, personally i'd increase the contrast on the white and give it a wash of devlan mud. Good work so far

lol thanks.

The white is dheneb stone, 2:1 of dheneb stone and skull white, 1:1, 1:2 then pure skull white.

I was also thinking about adding weathering to them except I don't really know how I would do that, I want it to be subtle not just 'heres a brown colour, drybrush it'.

life.

I'm subscribing. My bret army is based on a nobleman whose brother came back from galivanting around bretonnia with a sizeable force of knights/men at arms and has joined him to crusade and rid the world of twirly mustachio evil guys.

Or at least thats the childs description. More detail can be provided if neccessary.

I collect:

Grand alliance death (whole alliance)

Stormcast eternals

Slaves to Darkness - currently Nurgle but may expand to undivided.

So call me crazy but spending $190 on a single regiment is just a bit expensive, instead I'm using bretts and empire greatswords to make questing knights:

so what'd ya think?
