The one available in the Nottingham shop is an Amber Ale, but I think that's a bit puny to be the most infamous beverage of the Old World. No, I think Bugman's signature drink has to be something with more umph to it, a like a dark stout or an IPA. What do you all think?

The shameful secret, and source of the eternal enmity between night goblins and dwarves, is that Bugman's Brew contains traces of Madcap Mushrooms.

I read in one of the F&G books that some was spilled and put out a flame, so not too high alcohol %. However I'd imagine it's more of a stout or bock.

If we are being sensible then it is probably something akin to a bitter or possibly an IPA. It would need lots of hops to preserve it on its journeys across the old world.

I always thought of Dwarven Ale as a Black and Tan, with an alcohol % of somewhere in the 20''s or 30's. a nice balance for a mix of quality quaffing and high Elder race alchohol tolerance

IF it was a beer, it'd be Arrogant Bastard.

If it was a liquor then it'd be everclear with traces of the Old Ones blood. Nectar of the gods.

Funny.... That is exactly how one makes Applejack. Take raw cider, ferment it, then freeze it several times pouring off the non frozen liquid.
STB is NOT a beer, to state it simply. It is for all intents and purposes a Spirit. The freezing and refreezing is actually a distiullation method sometimes referred to as "Mongolian Still". This alone moves any beverage produced in such a manner to the Spirit catagory.

XXXX is terrible. You either presume that Dwarven beverages are rubbish or you're... Oh, you are a Queenslander.

It's probably an ale. I have rules for 'Bugmans Ale Cart' in a White Dwarf. The Amber' is probably pretty close.
