So, recently, I noticed there's been a helluva lot of spam posts from China, or some country with a red flag. Most of it seems to be for handbags, or something...

I assume Legoburner, if you're reading this, that you're hard at work on it, just kinda wanted to spread awareness is all.

China (mainland) and India are 95% of our spam. We still have good users from both of those countries so there will be no outright block on them.

Use the mod alert when you see it and we immediately delete it and IP ban them which gets rid of them.

So no Dakka SWAT team swooping in to blow the culprits away?

It's not always from them anyway sometimes you see them with a US or UK flag.

It's just more likely to come from both of those places and it's possibly their main or even only way of advertising their crap.

I'm not complaining so much about the countries themselves, just kinda wondered why so much spam itself got through.

However, I'm sure you're aware of it Lego, so no problems there.

They are not automated most of the time these days, they are paid humans who post so there are no technical measure that can be used to stop them without blocking loads of legitimate users as well unfortunately.
