Now I must confess I never thinned my paints until now!

So sitting in GW today after University painting my Fire Warriors in my chosen colours. Was going okay until my Boltgun Metal Started to act up so I wash the brush to get rid of any bad paint and by complete accident I take some of the Boltgun paint, not even thinking to let the brush dry and the Boltgun Metal started to cooperate a bit.

I know its been said many many times before but thin your paints if you have trouble finding something to mix your paints on (didnt want to use a plate coz my mother would go nuts) just use a food bag, used it to thin the basecoats of my stealth suits and im lovin the results so far! Hopefully due to this my painting skills will improve.

Water or a proper thinner would work I presume.

REMEMBER: THIN YOUR PAINTS

(Had to be in caps so it was seen)

Look out peeps! His stabilisers have come off!

You just made the jump mate, and you painting will come on in leaps and bounds once you start to identify how much thinning is required for different techniques.

Happy experimenting dude!

If you have a tile shop near you, ask for some spare white tiles lying about, ones with a slight dip in the middle are perfect. Of course, if you want to go the whole hog, you could get or make yourself a wet palette, which will keep your paints thinned and mixed for quite some time. There's quite a few tutorials on how to make your own, and usually all you need is some baking parchment, a sponge or wad of paper towels, and a plastic container.

Somewhere in south-central England.

Plastic palettes cost about 65p each from art shops.

If you thin too muhc with water the paint will lose its ability to skin so put a bit of acrylic medium in too.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Haha, I can already see a difference in my pulse rifles, the Ice Blue seems alot sharper compared to the 1st one i done.

My Black "Ink" as I call it (Just a really watery Chaos Black without adding thinner) is just too thin for my liking, but does give a decent undercoat.
