What are your thoughts on a Offical, GW Endorsed, Kroot Codex. KompletlyKroot made one, but I was wondering what you peoples thought on the subject. I SAY YESH!

My Year Of Frugal Gaming blog
I've been playing Warhammer 40,000 since 1988, and am just coming back from a bit of a 10-year hiatus. And please excuse any wild accusations, hallucinations, or outright factual errors, as I am recovering from a serious head injury. And Warhammer 40,000 is part of my therapy. OH YEAH!
Yes it would be awesome, a little more filling out and characters would make the current fan codex perfect and maybe some manner of transport, vehicle, tank? I did start a kroot merc army earlier this year but it's been put away for the time while I work on some marines, a little more love and the predatory birds we all love could come back out! :-)

Good for you...
I would love an all-Kroot list. I really think they need to remove the section in the Tau codex that only gives Kroot extra options in "forests or jungle".

I wouldn't mind, provided the Kroot aren't tying up someone like the Necrons, Dark Eldar (or not considering the news), or Daemons.
I think the writers of the codex badly need to review their work if they think the codex is actual usable:
- The Great, Greater and Baggage Knarlocs are way underpowered. Anything with 5 wounds, cavalry and a Dread sized base should be a Monstrous Creature. Rending is not a solution.
- The Master Shaper should be able to take a Great(er) Knarloc as a ride. It seems odd that he can't, especially with the art section.
- Vulture-Kroot seem weird and in terms of physics, impossible. Also that just makes another assault marine knock-off, but really, really bad. Maybe if they counted as cavalry that could ignore terrain like a jump-pack it would be nicely distinctive, as well as having the fleet upgrade.
- In a codex with no vehicles, there is no way to break AV 14 except for the odd meltagun or meltabomb.
- Almost every faction has some form of defence against shooting in addition to hugging cover. The Kroot don't, only 3 models have a save better then 6+, and those are a special character and two HQs, one of which gets a 4++ save, and is the only model to have it.
- Their only special character is really, really bad. Anghkor Prok is T3, W3, 75 point character with no ++ save, a 5+ armour save, IC so that he can be picked out, and grants fearless onto a joined unit with a 6+ armour save... The basic Master Shaper is 40 points, has the same statline, can take better gear including a 4++ save.
Those 35 points that make Prok better then a generic net you master-crafted on squads in 6", not Preferred Enemy, Fearless on the squad he joins despite having Ld10, and being unable to benefit from one of the better features of the codex.
I would take the Mastershaper over Prok any day.
Even though the shaper has a Kroot pistol which does nothing compared to the KR adding +1 A, actually why does he have the ability to take a PW+Kroot Pistol and still retain the Kroot Rifle? The rifle's only use is giving +1A, so the PW+Pistol means the rifle is unneccessary and should be traded for either a meltagun, stormbolter or Eviscerator so the Shaper is able to choose between PF or PW at I...
- With the army wide adaptations, its not likely anyone is going to take anything other than Ork Hybrid. Bold is not going to help out, Fast Reflexes could work if the army wasn't so fragile in combat, Acute Senses is not something thats ever worth buying IMO and the +2 to cover when Going To Ground may stack with the Fieldcraft, but that just means squads don't die provided they do nothing.
- The Psychic powers feel like someone likes the Circle Oroboros, but then decided to read the SW codex. If 40k's terrain rules worked liike Hordes/Warmachine maybe the powers would be something to consider.
- Headhunter Kindred and Stalker Kindred should be amalgamated, or give the Stalkers the Headhunter's poison weapon rule.
The Headhunters are a 30 point Shaper with nine 10 point Kroot who have 4+ poison in melee.
The Stalker Kindred is a 20 point Shaper with better special rules, and four 15 point Stalkers with enough rules to give them the tactical options to justify being an Elites choice.
I like the Kroot, but I also like not being curbstomped.
Also littlenibbler Orks aren't about armour saves.
Orks are about having too many models on the table, and wasting the other guy's time with your movement phase.
Orks are about having the toughest units on the table.
Orks are about not caring about how many bodies are left in a long winding trail until the squad is down to less than a third its starting strength.
Orks are about rolling more dice then you can count without the aid of a calculator or a pen and paper.
Orks are about having totally fething insane characters tearing gak down like Doc Grotsnik, Ghazghkull or Snikrot.
Orks are about being too fething awesome to die...
I think they should be like the space marines and give the tau 5th ed codex HQ's that can unlock certain types of armies. It would be nice if you had one named character and on generic HQ that would unlock a kroot army and give them special rules like Khan and the bike captain do for SM bikers. I think all the books should get HQ's that change around the FOC like SM get to give players more directions to take their army in.

It's an interesting direction for the Codex(s), that I like. The Kroot Merc lists were playable with almost any army, (comparable to how Inquisitorial forces can play with most forces of the Imperium,)

I suspect the new Dark Eldar codex will provide another 'counts as' option for Kroot, joining the Ork codex.
