Would 60 FNP FC Assault Marines be a problem or a liability?

Reclusiarch; Power Armour; Rosarius; Jump Pack; Crozius Arcanum; Infernus Pistol

3 Sanguinary Priests; Jump Pack; BP; Power Sword;

3 10-man Assault Squads; Jump Packs, 2 Meltaguns, Sergeant with Power Fist

2 10-man Assault Squad;; Jump Packs, 2 Flamers, Sergeant with Power Fist

6 Death Company; jump packs 1 thunderhammer, 1 power weapon

A man's character is his fate.

I would change DC into more assault marines. Mech armies may be a bit of a hard time if you cant get within melta reach. Otherwise it looks good

Its funny you said that - its exactly what I did after posting.

Reclusiarch; Power Armour; Rosarius; Jump Pack; Crozius Arcanum; Infernus Pistol

3 Sanguinary Priests; Jump Pack; BP; Power Sword;

4 10-man Assault Squads; Jump Packs, 2 Meltaguns, Sergeant with Power Fist

2 10-man Assault Squad;; Jump Packs, 2 Flamers, Sergeant with Power Sword, Infernus Pistol, melta bombs

What I like best about this list are the special rules - FNP, FC and Descent of Angels.

Ah ok. Looks good. Only thing I would change in my preference would be priest weapons as I like them either naked, lightning claw, or melta armed (either Infernus or combi melta and melta bomb). But not too much difference I suppose

Well, I like this kind of army.
If the enemy has first turn, then he wastes his first two rounds of shooting.
But the army is vulnerable to small arms fire.
Therefore, I'd run some Vanguard Veterans.
They can charge upon arrival thanks to DoA and heroic intervention.
So they can eventually remove some serious threat...

With the addition of the priests the army is actually quite resilient to small arms fire. This is a good replacement for the DC and should serve you well.

However, a DC with jump packs is not out of place in such an army.
It can land where you want them thanks to DoA and do its dirty work.

My original post included a small DC - my thoughts were to add a little variety without compromising the theme. I like both lists though. I like the idea of a lightning claw on the Priests - I may add one or two to mix things up.

What do you think of adding Astorath the Grim?

He is very expensive for what you get plus a bit redundant if you are taking priests.

Well, all those BA special characters (up to Mephiston) are not worth their points.
But Mephiston doesn't fit into a DoA army as he doesn't benefit from the DoA rule.
He's better suited for a mech army.

Hurr! Ogryn Bone 'Ead!

Ditch the flamers and just take meltaguns. Bolt Pistols and Chainswords backed up by Frag Grenades is more than enough to get rid of light infantry in cover.

Well, flamers are good for horde control.
Soften up an Ork mob or a Gaunt brood isn't a bad thing.

I second the recommendation to add Vanguard Veterans. I'd run at least one smallish, tricked-out unit. Hell, I run two in my DoA list.
