So ive been toying around with an idea for an ork list something along the lines of:

troops
grotsx29
grotsx29

elites
loota x5
loota x5
loota x5

heavy
boomgun
boomgun
boomgun

hq
shock attack gun
shock attack gun

with no upgrades thats 932pts not horrible for 5 insta death marine pie plates .

The idea would be pop a transport with lootas then nuke the boys on the inside with pie from the other side of the table alla umies .Problems start to come up with av13+ since lootas are longshots and SAG are well SAG.Of course this wouldnt be the whole list just the shooty core add in more boys and what not with remaining points since this is pretty easy to get rid of with some armies.Thoughts CC??

Don't like it too much... 2x29 grots will die in a minute and that makes it only possible to get draw in 66% times...
Lootas and boomguns can be countered easily... Even SAG (especially if you put him in loota squad, then after someone takes down 2 lootas, and you fail ld it's good by sagy)...

But it could be nice for fun

meks with grots not loota my bad.Id deploy something like lootas in some kind of cover boom guns behind them then each mek with the grots in cover somewhere out of the way. Maybe mek on each side of the board and dakka line in the middle. The only time id have trouble would be on multi objective mission since i can just camp mine and hope i blow up all his troops on the single objective . Although adding in a couple mobz of shootas wouldnt be a horrible idea

Are you taking the SAG's for the pie plates, or just because they are a fun idea?

If you don't mind giving up the SAG's I'd suggest dropping the Mek's and taking Warboss in their place. Then you can take two 3 man Nobz squads with dedicated BW's with KillKannons.

This cost more points, but gives you two more troop units and the Killkannons should be more reliable than the SAG's while still giving you the big blast you wanted.

DTrain that's awfull advice! Firstly it's illegal. Dedicated Battlewagons don't get Killkannons. Secondly it's like 300 points more than his list i.e. a completely different list.

Azgrim The concept is feasible though it would work better with a KFF on one of the meks instead of a SAG. That way you give the Looted Wagons a much needed cover save. It is not a very competitive list as the only troops are grots so you wont be capturing many of his objectives, some focused fire and you will have trouble keeping your objectives and if you scatter a few times per game it will get really bad for you...

i think your list is lacking what an ork atny is....

the idea with the grots isnt so great. like someone already sed there dyin and you cant stop it.

and the problem with the AV 13 that you stated.

what space marine player in there right mind isnt going to take some vindicators against orks. Str10 Ap2 large blast. BEAUTIFUL.

and ill also be taking a LRC with my LC termies in it against this list. youd be hard pressed to pop AV 14 before i assault you with my power weapons, re rolling wounds.

Orks can do a Shooty lists, if that's what your going after, but this is not the way to do it. Sorry but your idea of interesting is not the same as mine
