Subject: Grey knights VS. Eldar (fluff included)

I was a avid fan of the eldar and now have recently come to own 8 books from the BL; nemesis, Grey knight omnibus, path of the warrior, farseer, and a few others. I was just wanting to ask if anyone knows any other sort of good book with eldar fluff.
Thing is the SM and inquisition are made to look so cool and in each book i've read the eldar are always dieing, and seem to loose morale easily. Even the new codex sets them in need for their mech units and such...
So sad, i have been a fan of the eldar's psychic abilities and their long aged history and technology and looks. Why are the books making them look weak and frail?
So this would be a two question thing:
1. any thoughts on the eldars fluff?
2. if the eldar and grey knights were to come face to face with the eldar (autarch, farseer etc) who would kick arse??

Eldar essentially are ninja imperial guardsmen, who care a LOT for their own life, probably feel pain ten times more than humans, and have some neat technology.
A balanced battle could never occur between grey knights and eldar. Grey knights need to be outnumbered, or they always win, and eldar cannot outnumber.
Eldar could win if they used fire dragons to kill the grey knights, but thats very unfluffy.

Two nights ago, my Eldar firmly beat (stomped? annihilated? pwned?) the Grey Knights in a fair fight. The trick is to stay out of assault range and always keep moving, always keep shooting. Dire Avengers can force enough armor saves to wear away any opposition!

Is there any eldar unit that could take them on in CC?

@ Jaon: It's a good thing Eldar don't care much for balanced battles. Strike them when divided, divide them when they are unified, unify them when you want to release some of that sun-slaying goodness a craftworld hides.

shames though, these days the only units that can take anything else on in CC are the SM, CSM, orks, and nids.
Speak of which the eldar would really need the distance to deal with nids and SM init.
Just the fluff written these days doesnt give the eldar any credit. Not in the same way the SM are glorified.

And its the same versus any other faction with marines. Marines are the posterboys of GW and get treated as such. With the huge chunk of profits they get from them.

We're talking about fluff, not tabletop.
In tabletop, Grey Knights are one of the weakest armies due to how overpriced they are.

its alright i suppose table top talk.
I'm just considering the fluff that makes up the two different sides.
I mean i just read "Redemption Corps" and i do give that certain individuals deserve credit, but the Sisters of Battle seem like over zealous fanatics at best. Ok the commissar also shoots his troops, good example in the Dawn of War omnibus so he's a no no in my book.
Though is there anything worth reading that portrays the eldar in a light other than ones that make then seem a little like colourful hippies with cool tech and even cool psych powers?
And i what i mean by this are the terms they use for things. The "sword wind" for example i've read somewhere, translates to "falling leaves that cut" ??
I'm a fan of the race and for a while have been planning a major order of the units. But now that i've gotten my hands on some books from BL im not convinced.
Its a little crushing. The Eldar always seemed so cool.
Ive read the Path of the Warrior and something bout it doesn't sit well again. Too much focus upon the delicacies of the race one character in particular.
