Never played a game of 40k nor written my own list for an army yet. Criticisms please.
Sha'so w/ cyclic ion blaster, flamer, plasma rifle, hard wired multi tracker and target lock
10 Fire warriors w/ devilfish
3 Crisis suits w/ flamer, plasma rifle, fusion blaster
3 stealth suits
16 kroot
1 Hammerhead w/ missiles, railgun
2 Broadside suits w/ railgun, missiles, multi tracker
Comes out to 999 points. I have no idea beyond a very base understanding of 40k. Basically is this setup worth putting money into to try and reach out to a bigger gaming demographic?

The stealth suits will do hardly anything alone and i would recommend dropping them for something else.
Never give your suits three weapons because they can only fire one. and you have light infantry, heavy infantry and tank destroying weapons on them. If you want to hunt infantry give them two flamers and if you want to hunt termies then give them plasma, fusion and a multi tracker so they can fire both.
I hope this helps

so model wise just toss the stealths? perhaps add a broadside instead?

I would get specialize your crisis suits, making them either Plazma/Missle pod/Multi Tracker or Plazma/Fusion/Multi Tracker. Consider adding 1-2 sheild drones to this squad also.
Also, a Shas'El with Targetting array will save you some points, instead of the Shas'O. Use him with the same loadout you have on your crisis suits.
All vehicles NEED a disruption pod. For 5 points it lets you ignore 50% of all incoming hits.
Swap the multi trakers on your broadsides for Advanced Stabilization Systems. The added mobility will help you out alot, and the missles don't help out on your anti-tank role.
The stealth suits are'nt that great, but you should try them out a few battles and decide for yourself.

Im by no means a Tau expert but ive heard nothing but slander and insult towards Kroot (and thier moms) Ive heard great things about "MOAR CRISIS SUITS" though!
Stealth suits have been very hit or miss (from what ive heard) they look pretty cool though, so i say try them

drop the stealth suits and get some more fire wariors. and drop the flamers you never want to get into close combat, use multi trackers instead they let you fire both weapons. you should also have your crisis suits in 3 one man teams for beter mobility, and give them a gun or shield drone Automatically Appended Next Post: drop the stealth suits and get some more fire wariors. and drop the flamers you never want to get into close combat, use multi trackers instead they let you fire both weapons. you should also have your crisis suits in 3 one man teams for beter mobility, and give them a gun or shield drone

No fusion blasters on stealth suits, they are there for anti-infantry. Adding anti tank makes them ineffective at both jobs.

I'd lose the flamer. Such close weps mean your suit will get caught in h2h the next turn. This is bad.
aerethan wrote:10 Fire warriors w/ devilfish
D'fish needs a Dispod, everytime.
aerethan wrote:3 Crisis suits w/ flamer, plasma rifle, fusion blaster
Go with PR/ FB/ MP, called a 'Helios' config. This is an okay load out. PR/ MP/ MT is better and so is BC/ MP/ MT. FireKnife and FireStorm, respectively.
aerethan wrote:3 stealth suits
Stompydakka, Smarteye is right. Just keep 'em anti-Infantry. That pittance of 2 points, makes for a 92 point Fusion Blaster with 2 superfluous Burst Cannons. Worse, FBlaster range mean suits get caught in h2h the next turn.
aerethan wrote:1 Hammerhead w/ missiles, railgun
Add MultiTracker to move Combat Speed and fire all guns. Dispod for a Cover Save. By "missiles" do you mean SMS? There are also "Seeker Missiles" in the tau arsenal, you see.
aerethan wrote:2 Broadside suits w/ railgun, missiles, multi tracker
Give them a Team Leader, bonding knife and 2 shield drones.
With someone of the increases I've recommended, this list could be 1100.

Yes, your money target is okay. Buy the BattleForce box, 2 to 3 Crisis Suit boxes, and then a SkyRay box (it has the HammerHead parts) or two. After that, e-mail me, or search some of my other responses. Maybe a "Brothererekose and BattleForce box" search.
