I don't know how to paint my 15 Vanguard Veterans.
They have jump packs and are still black at the moment (column 2 to 4 from the left).
I want them to be different from the Assault Marines (colums 5 onwards).
Any tips would be highly welcome.

The most simple thing would be to paint the helmets and shoulder rims white, as befits Veterans of the 1st Company. That, or you could alter the emblem a bit to show their higher status.

BA vanguard it is?
Did mine:
- red body armor
- black shoulderpads
- black soft armor
- black jumppacks
- golden/yellow helmets
- black weapon casings
- white insignia, wings, etc
- green purity seals
- bleched bone for parchment, tabards, cloaks, etc
- enchanted blue lenses
- brown pouches, etc
- bling stuff in gold and silver
gone the classic route from red assaultmarines (only extra is yellow helmets ) to veterans with a second color
Yours are red Assault marines, white shoulderpads.
These shoulderpads are intentionally red?
As most of these marines are red+white, maybe keep this and put more white on the vets?
Codex markings like said 1st co colored rims could help too.
OTOH too much white and red and theyre medics...

Yellow or white helmets, adding more purity seals, cool shoulderpad designs etc. can all beef up you'r vets.

Crusading deep in the Eastern Fringe.

Bone helmets, golden shoulder rims, kill tallies, scripture, symbols representing badassery in your chapter, lots an' lots o' purity seals and scrolls. You'd be surprised at just how a different color for the helmet (preferably one that contrasts with the primary color. In your case, the bone contrasts from the red) can differentiate vets from "rank and file" marines.

Interesting. Do you have a pic?
I guess I'll paint the helmet differently, eventually bleached bone.
Should the packs be painted normally (in red) or say black as 1hadhq?

I don't have a good pic of the ASM but maybe these can show the difference from veterans to specialist to common battlebrother:
