So basically I am in possesion fo three Furioso Dreadnaughts, yet all of my lists consist of running Rhinos or Razorbacks with Baal Predator and Heavy Predator support - in short, I haven't found a home for my Furiosos yet.

It has occured to me that Furiosos do not fit my personal style, but due to my innate need to master my army, I want to find one list that they run well with, and my good friend recommends using three of them in one particular game to try them out.

What meshes well with them? Right now I'm toying with the idea of adding 4-5 Rhinos/Razorbacks with x5 Assault marines x1 metlta x1 powerfist/x10 assault marines with x2 melta x1 powerfist, and a Priest or two thrown in - all of the assault cannons will keep the heat off the Dreadnaughts, and help them get into close combat with their desired target. In order to accomodate the three dreads, I would presumably have to drop Predators and Baals.

Any tips would be appreciated!

I'm gonna guess the x10 referred to the situation of the OP using Rhinos, not Razorbacks.

I want some Stormravens too . . . get it together Forgeworld . . .

Drop pods do wonders for normal SM dreads, I imagine you could try that out.

Heh, I'm in the same boat in terms of trying to figure out how to use these.

Here's a list I'm going to try this weekend, just in case it gives you any ideas. Although just like you, i'm still trying to find a place for them as well, dread's are probably my favorite units in the game, i just rarely get to use them.

Mephiston – 250

ELITE
DC Furioso – 195
-drop pod, deathwind launcher
-blood talons, magna grapple

Furioso – 195

For the drop pod dreads, one would be amazed what kind of alpha strike damage you can pour out with a Frag Cannon and Heavy Flamer. Having that 135 (170 with the pod) point unit nuke an entire unit with one set of shots, or plasting the rear end of most vehicles at AV 10, with two S6 rending and an S5.

YO DAKKA DAKKA!

You can always take a 10-man squads and still buy the Razorback for them. They can't hop in unless you combat squad, but overall Blood Angels are great for spamming Razorbacks.

They're a bit more expensive but the extra movement+fire makes TL Asscannons much more worth it than for vanilla.

I'd say run the mechanised build to back up those walkers - it forces the enemy to prioritise with their AT weaponry. Unfortunately close-combat armed walkers aren't the most optimal way to utilise dreads. The magna-grapples make a considerable difference.

Jump infantry are nice and can get in your face but have built-in liabilities and don't come with heavy-weapon platforms.

can't you make them Librarian dreds?

Take wing of Sanguinius for a flying dred. Nobody likes the idea of a flying dred armed with CC weaopons.

The only down side is you can't take blood talons, but at least you can catch things lol.

Furioso Dreads with Blood Talons are the most effective shield in the game. They simply must draw all fire while they are still mobile. If a Furioso reaches an enemy unit, that unit is wiped out.

Therefore, the thing that would mesh best with them would be Assault Squads or other infantry. There's no need to be mechanized to protect your troops as they'll be under no fire all the way in.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.
