I think they're pretty sweet, actually.

I'd love to see a Shot Attack Battery in an Apoc game.

The part about "All snotling herds must be deplyed within 6" of the Boss Mec" seems silly, though. Would they be pretty bunched up for blast weapons?

might be to do with the unpredictability and that a KFS is 'better' given the meta of mo tanks.

ork players i know don't even use meks, but then again they are new and not really aiming for competative lists

tyranids only want to give you a hug, it isn't their fault they are cursed with extremely sharp and pointy claws.

...urrrr... I dunno

Kustom Force Fields are generally seen as a sounder tactical option by most Ork players, if I'm brutally honest. That, and the model for the Shokk attack gun can be a bugger to put together.

Well.. I didn't like the metal one, so I made my own out of the Nobz box Cybork body and head, a Loota deffgun with Kustom scratchbuild whirlything, a Burna Arm and Gobbo cages from a Dwarf Standard WHFB set..

I used one in a game recently and man did it kick butt. Even with only 3 meks, an Apoc Barrage (3) with a decent strength will tear up vehicle squadrons.

Could you please work on your spelling, punctuation, and grammar? One of the rules of Dakka is to post legibly.

Big Meks with shokk attack guns are really unreliable for what they can do. However, I think that's what makes them Orky and therefore great. Kustom Force Fields are more popular now though, since people can run them inside battlewagons to give them a constant 5+ cover save. They also are easier to convert up.

FOR FUN.

Exactly. Play the unexpected. If you confuse yourself what chance does your opponent have? And that's the fun of Orks. Ramshackle, Don't Touch 'dat, Deffguns, snazzguns... they're all random. And personally I find that fun.

I've only recently got a Shokk Attack Gun, I played it a couple of weeks back. Okay, it didn't do anything spectacular, but it's a great looking piece - even after I've painted it

I'll certainly being using it again in the coming weeks.

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.

Send me a digital camera and I'll show you my TWO SAG that I use in my army. Did I mention they are painted 2nd ed style?

I won't bother.

...you can't spell the word "the?"

What the hell?

Come on dude, a little effort? Just a bit? We don't ask for much, just that we can understand what the hell you're saying.

On the topic of the SAG, I personally don't use them because my Orks are one of my tournament lists, and units that have a good chance of killing your own troops (like the SAG, Zogwort, etc) really have no place in a competitive list. They're fun, no doubt, but I'd only use them in friendly games. However, on the topic of friendly games, I have wanted for some time to get a SAG and use it only in that capacity, because honestly, they're hilarious.

This thread is an example of the type of threads I have really grown to dislike here on Dakka Dakka.

You have a poster who states "UNIT X" is no longer popular, because I never see it it anymore.

I don't know why any of these people ASSUME that their limited local gaming scene is somehow indicative of how everyone plays around the rest of the world. Anecdotal experience is limited, by nature.
