So as most of you know, Hunter Killer missiles (found in the Blood Angels codex, among others) have a profile of "unlimited range krak missile".

Common sense dictates this is fired at a forward arc, but does "unlimited range" imply that Raw dictates it's heat seeking, and can guide around to back armor? I just want to know of a definitive ruling.

No, you cannot.

Not only is it common sense, it is the rules. Specifically the rules for shooting at vehicles.

Since nothing describes where the missile actually is located, where do you measure from when you're doing a vehicle cross section to determine front/side/or back armor?

From where the missile is located on your model.

When shooting at a vehicle you hit the facing based on where the firer is. If the HK launcher is in the rear arc of the target then it hits the rear armor.

Touché. I suppose my question is better worded: "so I can slap the thing anywhere I want it?"

As long as its not modeling for advantage (i.e. mounting it atop a 12-inch-high tank antenna), you could.

Hahaha, stick it on a super long, hinged arm!

So now, I swing the 24" multi jointed arm mount which holds my hunter killer missile out, swing it around this building and into your rear arc from my deployment zone. I now fire it and everything else as moving a turret doesn't count as movement!

That would be epic. Lame, but eipc lameness.
