Does anyone else listen to Sigur Ros, besides me?

For those of you that don't know who Sigur Ros is, they are a experimental/ethereal-rock musical group from Iceland. They specialize in that kind of music that makes you think, that calms you down, that, when you are listening to them while taking a walk, and looking at a beautiful sunset, you almost cry as you realize how beautiful everything really is. They inspire you to live, to love, to create, to write.

I love Sigur Ros. I listen to them to relax and to study. Also, when I'm really tired I listen to them and I feel like I'm melting into the floor. It's awesome.

"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face--forever." -1984, pg.267

I think George Orwell was unknowingly describing 40K.

I first became aware of them around the time of 'Agaetis Byrjun'. I saw them supporting radiohead in 2001. They're alright, but I didn't like the singer's voice back then.

It seems to have improved recently, mind.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

I love them. They're a great band.

I like that I have absolutely no idea what he's singing about, so I'm free to just make up my own stories.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.

That is what makes them so great, since not knowing what he is singing about really adds to the whole ethereal effect.

They're great ambience. I've listened to them for a few years.

A couple of my friends love them and see them live every chance they get.

However, they just don't do it for me, whatever 'it' is...

Have any of you checked out Mogwai? You may like them.

I recommend 'Come On Die Young'.

I've had the discography for a few years. They'll never top Fear Satan, it's been sorta downhill since then. Good tunes though.
