Jesus Christ I am not looking to start another painful episode in the Foam Wars, but I have a question. I have been looking at Battle Foam vs. Outrider Foam, specifically the Sabol sizes. I need foam for some of my armies desperately, but paying the price for battle foam....I just can't. The Battlefoam precuts are 9.99 each, with custom 12.00. The Outrider Foam is 12.00 for precut, with customs 14.00.

am I missing something, maybe looking at the wrong products or something, but isnt Outrider supposed ot be cheaper "cause we know you'd rather spend your money on models" whilst battle foam is supposed to be top of the line, top dollar product? Or does Battle foam only cost more when looking at other options, or something? Does that only apply to their bags and not their foam or somethign?

What'd I miss?

How much is each site's shipping cost?

Are there "bundle deals" which might save a couple bucks?

I think the BF cost is mostly their cases.. their foam is quite reasonable.

2+2=5 for sufficiently large values of 2.

Have you seen KR Multicase stuff?

£18 gets you a very stiff cardboard cox with handle. (Bear with me before you let loose a tirade about it being cardboard)

In that price you get 2/3 or 4 foam trays depending on which depth or pick and pluck options you want. Totally moddable for your needs : All trays are 15 x 10 inches as standard

http://www.totalwargamer.co.uk/card-kr-multicase.html

They really are decent cases and are cost effective even if all you want is the foam.

Yeah, however was looking to fit a Sabol case I've had for a few years. Moving to a whole new case system just isnt in the budget.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I have a question that's relevant.

Someone pointed out a while back that the Battlefoam trays that are cut to fit in Sabol bags are actually slightly larger than Sabol trays. I was thinking of buying them a while back but put it off when I heard that. Has anyone here bought them and if so, do they fit okay or are they too big?

The Battlefoam Sabol trys are alittle large, they will still fit but you have to squeeze them in some.

I'm a big fan of battlefoam trys, and their trays are very resonably priced. I can't really speak for outrider though as I've never used them.

To add in.. yes, they are about 1/2 to 3/4 inch wider than the sabol ones.. Sabol trays are 7.5 inches by 13 inches.. and BF trays are 8 or 8.25 by 13 inches. I have swapped MOST of my basic infantry to BF trays, and I have had NO problems putting them in the Sabol bags. It helps that Sabol bags are soft sided and move out slightly to assist with the fit. If Sabol made rigid sided bags, there would be problems with scrunching.

Re Battlefoam and postage, Wayland games sell them so no need to ship from the US.

They also sell KR stuff as well.

Just buy the damn BattleFoam it's the better product and seems like the particular item you want is cheaper.

I think you're confused... or I am. Clearly Battlefoam is the cheaper of the two products (9.99 vs 12, 12 vs 14), whats the problem?

LOL, cant speak for you chaos, but my confusion stems from Battlefoams Cadillac reputation leading me to believe it should have a more expensive product, when in reality Outrider is indeed the more expensive.

Some folks in here have offered some explanations, and I will have to check out the sites myself more thoroughly when I get home in a week. Time to close this thread out, I think, before some starts launching.

Oh, Sidstyler; that was a good question, so a welcome hijack. Thanks.

Ah, now I get you.

The only thing I can think of is that Outrider stuff costs more because its a much smaller newer company and the owners don't have money.
