Do people ever use them? I've been trying to build a BA list, making my first army and I rarely see Tac Squads being used. Is there something I should know as far as troop choices go? Keep in mind, I'm a noob and this is my first army I'm looking to make.

blood angels are an assault army, tac squads are just not assault marines. imagine you are using tac squads, and i gets a red thirst. you are you going to do? stand there? also, blood angels are notoriously a faster moving army to other marines. just take assault marines, stick in a priest. you've got a fast moving combat squad with feel no pain, furious charge and maybe fearless.

Tactical Squads are great for combat squads since you can have the Missile Launcher sitting on a hill, and the Meltagunner and Sarge riding around in a fast rhino.

Also, 10 tactical marines in a fast rhino are very hard to get rid of, and very easy to get where you want them.

But what it comes down to is that there are so many good ways to set them up that you can fit them into a lot of different armies. Start thinking about the whole army working together instead of thinking about one unit at a time (maybe you already are) it will lead to better lists.

Also, you just need to play a lot of games to figure out what works for you. But in short, I love tacticals and use them in my BA army all the time. SO if they interest you then try them out.

Well, Tactical squads have no place in a BA army.
After all, you get 10 Assault Marines with 2 special weapons and a discount if they get a transport.
