<rant>Ok people, listen up good. The guy is dead. DEAD. As in a rotting corps in the ground. Not doing anything else. He does not need an MMO. He does not need monthly tributes. He does not need to be on CNN during "Michael Jackson Tribute Week."
Making an MMO off the guy is just dumb. "To celebrate his artistic genius?" What the...? Listen to his tunes, jam out a little, remember him yourself if your that sad about it. (Which you shouldn't be if you never met the guy.) But do NOT make an MMO and game franchise based around a musician! He does not need that to tarnish what he was. Sure he was an inspiration and had some good tunes. (Thriller, for example), but no matter how awesome he might have been, he was one man, who was a musician. No MMO's need to be made on his account.
Everyone needs to calm down and get over it. He's dead. End of story. Move on. Listen to something else, and stop making stupid video games based on him.</rant>
Sorry for that, sometimes frustration at the stupidity of mankind is a bit much to keep inside.

Well see, there is a reasonable premise for a Michael Jackson game. We assume he is dead, and will rise after 3 years (you know, for 2012, the prophesied end of the May(cal Jacks)an calendar). When he does, he will begin building up his army of backup dancers for Ragnarock, the ultimate dance fight with Jesus (or Satan, whatever) for the souls of the world. Into this world you arise, a zombie follower of the risen King of Pop, and begin collecting gear, and completing quests to set the stage for the final battle.Gear will come in Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Remix editions. Classes will include Singers (ranged DPS), Dancers (Melee DPS), Bouncers (Melee Tanks), Groupies (Healers) and Managers (Buffers/Offheals/Pet class). Even death would be temporary, a brief time spent on the ground until a certain someone moonwalks on screen and lends a bedazzled hand to raise you.
Eventually, you will join into bands, then concerts, and take on every bad guy the apocalypse has to offer. Not only would it bring in tons of money, it would horrify millions, and likely spin off several movie deals.

English doesn't borrow from other languages. It follows them down dark alleyways and mugs them for loose grammar.

I see your piddly Genisis game and raise you the original arcade game:
While in some places it is hard to tell now, at one point Michael Jackson was obscenely popular, and there are still people that love him. When I say popular I don't mean Lady Gaga popular, I mean every single person on the planet practically knew who he was and owned his records. There hasn't been anyone on that level of fame since Jackson in the 80's and early 90's. If you were just a kid at the time it is hard to grasp just how big a celebrity he was. That also means there are still people who are delusional enough to want to make a Michael Jackson MMO, so caught up are they in his allure. Just being dead doesn't mean people instantly forget about you. Two out of four Beatles are dead and they still had the highest selling album of the decade (2000-2009).
Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.
If there had been MMOs in the 80s, you'd better believe there would have been one based somehow on Michael Jackson.
As Ahtman said, the guy was huge on a level that we can't even fathom right now. I honestly can't think of a single artist performing today that has that kind of heat, and I'm actually having a hard time to think of anyone who's gotten that big since.
Oh, it's part of Entropia. That's an important point, as it's only one planet in a consistent world. Entropia uses real money as in-game currency, which is much more taxing than a subscription fee. By making the potential for profit sound promising, Entropia is probably the biggest online pyramid scheme ever devised.
Unfortunately, Entropia will never fail, as it will always draw people into it with a promise of money gained by doing nothing but sitting on your ass and playing a videogame.

It sounds great in theory, until you realize how much time and money you have to invest in the game to even be able to play it, and how much the developers skim off the top when you attempt to draw out your funds that you've spent so much trying to earn.
In reality, the grand majority of people who play Entropia don't make any money. They just believe that by investing in the game, they will.
