I have started a High Elves army, and have become intrigued with the Lions of Chrace. Is it practical or not to use the Lions as mounts for my Silver Helms? If yes should the mount speed be reduced to the lions or stay at elven steed.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, please move it is.

I would call it a "counts as" conversion. I would use the same speed as elven steeds and just explain prior to playing the game that you like the lions better than the horses. If done right people should ooh and ahh.

Yeah unless it gives you a choice of steed, which in this and most unit choices it doesn't, then you stick with that steeds rules. You can however do what DAH said and do a "counts as" conversion, which is as the name suggests is taking one model and counting it as another. So it would be an Lion but would have the stats and rules of an Elven Steed.

Rule of cool would kick in: make it look awesome and people wont even think you should reduce the speed. They'll be too busy drooling over awesome lion cavalry.

Agreed, and if you look at the chariot they do have seperate stat lines for horses and lions, if you're just playing games with some friends they might let you use the lion stats, just don't try it on a stranger.

As another thought, you might try using the 'lion calvary' as a hero with an eagle mount or some such, to better represent the awesomeness that is lion calvary. Since the movement is gonna be off with either silverhelms or a great eagle, I would just go great eagle. Do great eagles get stomp?

My Lion princes are in the modelling thread. They go together really easily with only minor changes if you use Silver Helm riders. I made them as I already had 8 lion as I built 4 Tironic Chariots.
If you want a flying lion, I think there is a D&D minature that has a flying lion. However adding wings to a lion wouldn't be that hard.
