Vendettas are said to follow the rules for skimmers.

In the skimmers section it states after movement the model "must be placed on the table, it cannot stay hovering in the air" or something like such.

Does that mean the model lands on the ground after the movement phase is over? The wording doesn't seem too clear.

it stays on it's flight stand. That wording is there so some moronic 13yo doesn't hold his skimmer up in the air during his opponents phase stating that it is "flying" up there.

That is a wonderful image. Skimmers only land (optionally) when they are immobilized or wrecked.

the rule is there to stop people claiming that their skimmers cannot be assaulted because they are still flying

gwar has it spot on here skimmers should always be attached to their flying bases in much the same way as infantry should always be on an infantry base
