Reroll for first turn, and a +1 modifier on both rolls almost guarantees me my alphastrike. 15 kraks, 12 TL autocannon shots and five lascannons on turn 1 is enough to suppress stuff so that next turn I should survive most of the return fire, and by turn 2-3 I should have ranged superiority, forcing the enemy to come to me or play defensively. Mystics give me deep strike defense, and inq also has an annoying unlimited range hood

Thoughts, comments?

I think he's thinking dual autarch, getting everything on 2+ turn 2 is pretty groovy.

If I use -><- I'm not mocking you, it's a reflex from using the " silly" icon on every other forum.
However, if I use this -><- I might just mock you.

Most likely yes, but I'll still have coversaves on everything, if he can even reach me from his table edge.

with star engines, he could tank shock you on turn 2, taking no damage from first turn fire.
And if that doesnt work, he could pound your troops into paste and then hide till the last turn for objectives...
Or kill points, pound the rhinos

He can reach 36" from his table edge with star engines, and I wont put stuff that close, I can reach the other side anyway with 48" range. The GH will be in razors, and the LF will be screened behind 5 trained razors so he cant see them, the dreads will be in front with bjorn out right in front, everything has a 4+/3+ coversave. How is he pounding my troops if he cant see them? How is he hiding from 48" range? Sure he could negate my alphastrike, but playing reserve eldar isnt an automatic win against this army.

Yeah it's not automatic win, but I have seen similar lists many times in tourneys. Reserves lists and DoW will be your biggest challenge.

Single autauch is really all you need along with eldrad. EML heavy and prisms mean the stuff coming from reserves has a 12" move and 48"-60" range. Depending on terrain you can LoS long fang packs till you are ready to worry about them, and the likely hood of the Dreads and having a cover is rather negligible. Not saying the list is bad, but it certainly looks better on paper.

Other major downside, you only have 2x 5 man troops. In tourney play that won't cut it.

Thats what I'm thinking too, reserve and drop armies will avoid the alpha strike, although drop armies dont like the mystics, and DOW will rape me utterly.

Ill train the dreads and pop smoke on the lead one if your coming in next turn.

Ill screen and protect the troops as much as possible, but Ill playtest the list more and add in more troops if needed.

Speaking as a pure eldar player, unless there is some very well positioned terrain, it's nearly impossible to chain cover save dreads. 6' board edge with 12" depth placement then a 48"-60" angle shot makes even the well placed smoke launcher congo faulter.

If needed I can put 2 dreads in front and pop smoke on them? Or even 3? I just have to survive the initial bombardment, so most everything will be popping smoke.

You have plenty enough firepower with the Long Fangs and Razorbacks...the Twin Linked Autocannon Dreadnoughts become redundant and quite unnecessary. You're biggest foes will be Dawn of War and Reserves but also dedicated Assault Armies with tough bodies will have fun times with this list as well. If you kept the Dreadnoughts as Twin Linked Autocannons and Dreadnought Close Combat Weapons, you keep some Close combat nastiness around to foil assault destruction. Not to mention...you may get ~80% chance to get first turn but there will be a few times when you don't get it and there will be a few more times where the initiative is stolen...lists like these are glass cannons that far too many people get pleasure of ripping apart.

Ill always deploy so that everything apart from bjorn and 1 dread dont have cover, so even if my opponent steals the initiative Ill hopefully survive.

The riflemen dread are there to suppress vehicles if DOW rapes my long fangs.

The problem is you have nothing to stare down assault units...Hell, a Blood Angel player could deep strike a Land Raider or 2 filled with ultra nasty goodness and in the next turn maul your lines.

Ork Deff Koptas come to mind next...if they have 3 groups of 3 which they probably would, they could easily spot those in cover and in turn 2 make things interesting.

Cover from shooting is one; however, you don't get a cover save from being punched in the face.

You're big problem is no meltas. All that fire power wont do much to av 14, battlewaggons, land raiders, and leman russes will hurt you (provided they can keep you in the front arc which is easy on spearhead)

Sure raiders will hurt, battlewagons I'm not too scared of because if they advance into midfield ill get side shots, and if they stay back then they're not doing much. Raiders, ok, I can't reliably deal with them, but said raiders wont do too much to me either. Russes could be annoying, if they're camping in the back, then I'll have to advance to try and get side shots, but I'll blow all those Chimeras and infantry away first thank you.

Ill move away from said raider?

Not all armies need assault units... Mech IG is one of the most competitive armies out there, and it has absolutely NO combat units, not even PENAL LEGION (lol). Space wolves are marines after all, and grey hunters can smack mediocre assault units who are dumb enough to charge me.

Those deff koptas would take 15 missiles to the face and die? And they wouldnt even have a 3+ cover from turboboosting..
