I've just recently started using Fire Prisms in my gunwall Eldar army. (I know, not as good as mech, but I like it )

I was wondering what other people's standard use of them is. Do you typically fire both separately or do you find linking them together is a better option? In what situations is one method generally preferred over the other?

I only link when:

A. I have to take something down that is AV14 and not with a cover save.
B. A MEQ unit I have to take down that is not in cover.

You will see there are two themes:
1. when you need it.
2. no cover.

2 is pretty self explanitory, but 1 is not so much and is what you are asking. Linking is a decent option, but it's not synergy, it's quite the opposite. In most cases the 2 shots are better than one. It's only when the oppurtunity they get to excel is when you take that linked shot.

And that time is generally vs. those two things AV14 or MEQ, otherwise the normal shots from each would be superior, esp. when you can fire once, see how you do, and you'll have the second shot to follow up or place elsewhere.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
