Hey guys,

I've been having some trouble getting the cannon arm superglued to my heavy destroyers, and I was wondering if pinning would be an option, since it's such a tiny metal area to apply it to, and the torso is plastic. If I let it go without pinning, there doesn't seem to be enough surface area for the glue to stick.

Has anyone else had similar troubles with this model? Any pointers would be great.

I stuck a great big magnet (1/8"x 1/8") in the arm socket with a bit of GS and superglue and drilled a hole in the gun-arm connector peice to fit a matching magnet. Works great and I can swap it out for a regular destroyer arm when I'm short one.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

I've redesigned mine using bits and making the plastic destroyer gun double length. It fits and looks buffer than the metal version.

Ok. Thanks for the tips, guys. I'm going to try convntional here once more, but I'll probably go with a magnet later.

Good luck. That's a lot of weight for a magnet to hold.

I ended up going for pinning anyway. It was more tedious because of the small parts, but in the end the only trouble I had was braking a drill bit in half and then impaling my hand with the part still on the drill. That's the las of my h.destroyers, and once they are painted, the end of my necron army's development.
