I've got the problem that the Forgeworld wings take up the top arm spot, leaving only the bottom arm spot. Considering I was going to have Deathspitters and bonesword/lashwhip, this is a problem. The thought occurred to use Ravener torsos with thorax mounted deathspitters. I would give me a unique looking Shrike, and still be a WYSIWIG model. Does anyone know if Forgeworld tyranid wings fit the Ravener torso though?
GW have really done us a favour my making the Tyranid arm/body joints pretty much interchangeable. The
FW wings do indeed fit on the Ravener torso (though you may need to file the joint *a little* to get a suitably dynamic pose - this is of course optional). Great idea by the way.
I'd feel remiss if I didn't question your choice of armament however - are you sure you want to throw another 5 points at an already expensive model and by doing so actually prompt you to keep it out of melee? Whip/Sword is such an expensive option for Warriors/Shrikes that they really have to work hard to earn their keep, and the Deathspitter only adds to that while sometimes actually giving you a painful choice between running and shooting. Ironically, Talons would probably be better, saving you a few points and improving their abilities in melee (which is where their real strength lies).
