I haven't come up with a name for my Hive Fleet yet, but I thought I'd show off my first (nearly) completed models. These are the first models I've painted in over 4 years. I just need to base them (reddish soil, grey rocks and light green grassy patches). Next up, I'm working on my Hormagaunts.

Looks like a reversed Leviathan scheme, so why not have them as a Leviathan Splinter Fleet?

It's actually not meant to be. I came up with this colour scheme waaaaay back in 2nd edition. Since I'm making a new army, I figured I resurrect my old colour scheme on the new models.

I'm not a fan of using a pre existing hive fleet.

I like your theme. Looking clean and crispy.

Oh, hey, I've got some more. I just finished up my first 4 Hormagaunts (I'm painting them in groups of 4 to avoid assembly line problems).

I don't know if I want to highlight the purple. I'll wait till I have all 12 painted, then sit them next to my Warriors and see what I like more, highlighted or not.

I gave them a quick highlight over the purple to add definition. I'll definitely spend more time on my bigger Tyranids.

The problem is, I'm not that great a painter, and I suck even more at organics. I figure painting the gaunts (and after them, gargoyles) will give me a bit of experience for when I move onto my Carnifex.

Yeah, i definitly like that, I've got about a hundred Genestealers waiting to be painted and that colour scheme looks good to me. I wanted to do a bone white colour like that so its good to see what it looks like before I start spraying! I too am not that good a painter. I reckon from your photos your about the same level as me so its a good inspiration to get started...after I finish my IG...and Ultramarines...
