I'd just like to say I've changed my stance on things. He is a good army commander type of character but I still think he's a bit underpowered in terms of combats in the terms of other Space Marine characters.

You have a Master with a unique Stormbolter and Power Fist, Orbital Bombardment, 4++, and he makes Sternguard scoring units, as well as a couple of other abilities I can't recollect, he's not underpowered in the slightest.

I'm aware of that I'm just meaning that in terms of fighting on his own he's pretty useless as even Korsarro Khan and Shrike (who are both Captains) can beat him with relative ease. But I do see your point, he is a good army commander.

Kantor is not a combatant character, he's a force multiplier. Sure, he may not be able to throw down with the likes of Lysander and Vulkan, but the bonuses he gives more than make up for that.

qft
Most of the Space Marine special characters were made to make the normal troops stronger, not to be the best of warriors themselves.

Oh, come on! I don't even agree with your premise and I can come up with some arguments in favor of it!
Vulkan is brutal in CC and is arguably one of the best force multiplying Characters in the Game. Kantor has a Powerfist! Whassup with that? Defend your position!

But all it takes is for Vulkan to fail 1 of those 3++ against Pedro's PF!
I do agree that Vulkan can be brutal in CC. My Vulkan took down a DP in 1v1 CC!
Pedro isn't the least bit underpowered! Scoring sternguard, stubborn, and +1 attacks for all units within 12" of him (i think its 12). Heck ya he is a great force multiplier!

Agreed, making sternguard scoring units is amazing. Just drop pod them on objectives & your opponent now has to knock them off which is not an easy feat.

Kantor is made of win. Simply put all his abilites make him incredibly useful your paying 25 pts (150 for pfist chapter master vs 175 for kantor) for a a +1 atk bubble, scoring sternguard and a stubborn units, those abilites alone make him pay for his points in sheer usefullness.

Whell... you pay 150 points for the chapter master + powerfist and 25 points for:
-Stubborn chapter tactic
-Hold the Line! chapter tactic
-Dorn's arrow (or super storm bolter)
-Inspiring prescense
Underpowered? I thought so first too, but actually it is not at all.

+1 attack to units within 12" IIRC is quite powerful and you don't even mention that. if you're taking a drop pod army (which a sternguard heavy force usually is), that could mean most of your army!

the ability to have 18 scoring units is amazing.
he is actually the ONLY SC i use(as my own chapter master)
the only problem is losing the option to fall back automatically, but its tough to use that rule effectivly.
