This is a Imperial Guard army im thinking of doing.

It's generally a good list, but don't take the Lord Commissar. He's not woth it.

Your posting a few individual point costs, remove them. Agreed about lord commissar. Dont really like the really expensive CCS either. Rather trim it down by dropping body guards, carapace, and straken. Carapace on the Vets too is a bit of a waste. I would switch them to demolitions or drop them completely. Also dont really need PW on sergeants. Drop the priest also. With all those points saved I think you could get a 3rd vet squad and a chimera for the command

Um, in a 1k point IG list you have . . . 3 squads and 3 vehicles. That's not nearly enough. Start again, taking no upgrades at all besides special weapons, and you'll see that you can have a much larger army without losing effectiveness. Your CCS for example is 280 points (you miscounted) and you could easily do the same job with Straken + 4 meltaguns, which is 185.

wow, yeah, spending nearly 40% of your points in a single unit is a bad idea when you're a guard commander.

Needs more meat and potatoes, and less dessert.

Thanks for the imput people yeah i can see how its expensive and il revise the list
