This is my first battle report so sorry if it's bad.

Images were taken on my Dsi so they may not be the best.

If images are at the bottom sorry, I'm such a noob at posting images not sure how to organise if someone could explain it would be great.

Onto the lists.

Necron List
Deceiver
2x 10 warriors
2x 4 destroyers
Monolith


Dark Angels list
1 Captain
1 Special guy dont know who he was
5 assault termies all with claws
tact squad ML and melta
6 Veterens with rhino and a bunch of gear
Land Raider Crusader.

Mission: Ahnnilation
Deployment: Pitched Battle

We roll off and Dark Angels roll higher and decide to go first.

Dark Angel Deployment:
He deploys the rhino in the middle with land raider and captain next to it, the tactical squad has been combat squaded and the Ml sits on a building to the right and melta and sarg sit on a building to the left.

Necron Deployment:
I deploy my Monolith up front in a corner with destroyers behind it and the deceiver behind a building to shield him. Warriors are in reserve.


Dark Angels Turn 1:
Every thing moves up but the missile squad.
The rhino and land raiders hunter killer missile shoots at the monolith but bounce off, so does the Missiles shot from the combat squad.

Necron Turn 1:
I move the Monolith foward slightly and send the destroyers up the left flank to deal with the melta squad, the deceiver moves in front of the building ready to counter the land raider.
Shooting sees the rhino being destroyers by the monoliths particle whip and the melta squad killed by the destroyers. The veterens in the rhino pass a pinning check but the deceiver makes them take another one and they fail!

Dark Angels Turn 2:
Land raider moves up and terminators get out, captain also moves up.
The ML squad fires at the monolith and has no effect again. MM from the land raider shoots at the monolith doing nothing.
Assault sees his terminators just out of reach but his captain assaults the deceiver, the deceiver goes first gets 1 wound on the captain instant deathing him.
After that my opponent told me he thinks he's in a bit of trouble.

Necron Turn 2:
1 squad of warriors comes in from reserves and moves up behind the monolith.
The deceiver moves towards the terminators and destroyers continue to move up the left flank.
I shoot a squad of destroyers and the monoliths whip at the vets and only kill 3.
The deceiver assaults the terminator squad and does very bad only killing one terminator, thankfully they cant hurt him back .

Dark Angels Turn 3:
The vets move towards the deceiver combat to help the termies out.
The Ml from the combat squad and MM from the land raider continue to do nothing to the monolith.
The Vets assault the deceiver but I decide to run him away just for fun.

Necron Turn 3:
The destroyers move over to the other side of the table and the deceiver moves over to the terminators to try again.
Destroyers only kill 1 vet but only 2 could see so fair enough. The monolith fails to harm the land Raider.
The deceiver assaults the terminators and only kills 1 again!

Dark Angels Turn 4:
The vets move up.
Ml from the combat squad and land raiders MM continue to not harm the monolith.
The vets join the deceivers assault but this time the deceiver turns around and kills the remainding two vets.

After this the Dark Angels player wishes to give up leaving the necrons a victory with losing not a single unit.

My Thoughts on the battle:
I thought I did good on this battle, I was happy to see the termie death star unit because thats my deceiver kills best.
I dont think the Dark angels player knew how powerful the deceiver was and forgot about the phase out rule, then again my warriors were not on the feild or out of sight the whole game and the destroyers were just to hard to keep up with.
Over all I'd say good game but maybe not for the Dark Angels player.

Lance dont work on monoliths thankfully so take that eldar.

I'm 1 of 2 necron players at my store sadly, the other necron player is startings daemons on fantasy so I'll be alone but you can count on me to keep necrons alive .
My destroyer bases are pains to me and they wont keep my destroyers on them, the store owners asked me this during the battle and told me next time to take them so I guess I'll have to put up with them falling off constantly .

Thanks, first tank I've painted and the only one I've fully finished, basecoating that thing chaos black with a detail brush took ages (Yes I dont use sprays and I didnt have any other brush at the time, going to start using sprays soon for my next army).


On another note, going to games workshop tomorrow so I'll hopfully be able to get another battle done.

How can they be a pain? Just superglue them on it's not as if they are going to get immobilised making you need to take them off their bases. The store guy(s) will have told you to bring them next time as they probably think you're trying to abuse the LoS rule or something.
It's amazing how many Necron and Eldar players I see that don't put their destroyers/tanks on their bases now that it's true LoS I play both armies so that's why I notice them particularly (yes I do have my stuff on their bases).

Anyway, keep the Necron reports coming, it's always nice to read a fellow Necron player's report and see their army.

Sadly I was unable to get a battle yesterday at the store, hardly any one was there apart from the dark angels player some other necron player (dark angels player owned him in turn 2 I think lol) and a Blood angels player that I have some pics of a previous battle with him that I may as well make a battle report for that then .

The dice realy went my way mainly with the monolith, another time I vsed this guy my monolith destroyed one of his land raiders turn 1 . Yeah he's still going on about how broken the deceiver is.

Thanks, the destroyers half helmet things... what ever they are called were gold but I thought white made them stand out better.

That stuff just makes me laugh. Oh boohoo the Necrons have a powerful HQ? Really? Its they only thing Necrons have that stand up on its own and people have to bitch about it. Gotta love it

Exactly! People at my store say necrons are over powered and broken but I see them get slaughtered loads of times, I cant even beat guard no matter what I do and it seems dark eldar will be added to my cant beat list.

ShasO Ben, I really only have on off topic thing to say.... Do you really have 750thousand sons? Like really that s a lot of progeny. Are you secretly a egg laying monster of some sort? or you forgot the word point in your siggy Anyway on to something productive.... um, nope oh wait, against dark eldar just hide your troops behind two liths and template those rediculously fast vehicles and if they manage... oops meant WHEN they outflank you rapid fire everything you have in hopes to massacre it before you lose a squad to the two wyches and a commander that made it. I was one necron away from losing first round ard boys, but made his HQ and squad fail a leadership test and they 'doubled back'. Went from phase out to win with a single ld test. Only time I beat DE, only time I played DE... Yes I avoid DE players Side note, he did drop nightbringer like a sorority chicks clothes... only took 20 dark lances, he still had eight more to plink against my monolith to do nothing. Yup 28 dark lances. I almost cried except the mission was kill points.

Heh I should realy change that to 750 points not 750 .
The game I had against Dark Eldar was 1000 points and couldnt fit a monolith in, that was my 1st game against dark eldar I hope to have no more but with their new codex coming out I'll be seeing many of them, thats why I'm starting wolves to deal with Dark Eldar and Guard easy.
28 Dark Lances! I think any one would cry to seeing that good job on actualy beating it.

I have to admit, you've got one nicely painted 'Cron army there.

Nice battle report, I have to be honest Im sick of fighting (and killing ) DA terms, although being Cron I imagine its alot easier than for my IG, esp as those damn spammed Razor-backs have just shot my tanks to pieces.

Also off topic question (regarding the mono) , what paints did you use for the green highlights alone the small engravings ? Looks almost identical to the Necron codex, great job man!

Terminators are easy for necrons to deal with as long as a C'tan or Destroyer lord with warscythe is in the list.

Only used snot green belive it or not, recently brought scorpion green so I might add some of that soon and maybe small touchs of skull white. I tried copying the one from the codex so thats why it looks like it.

Did you have to mix the snot green with anything? Or is it straight up snot green + steady hand?

Again kudos man, this was a great report, I learned quite a bit from it

Deciding if I want the Nightbringer or the Deceiver as my next purchase... I keep reading deceiver is better, also it costs less points so thats always win!

Just snot green and the GW detail brush not much else, my hand isnt even that good shakes some times heh.

Deceiver is better is many many ways, lets just put it this way, skulltaker assaults nightbringer and instant deaths him but the deceiver can run away.

Thanks, lots of play testing against my self helps seeing as I go down to gw once a month if I'm lucky . The space marines shot but it was all at the monolith and we all know how tank they are . The destroyers were always out of sight and the deceiver was in combat so he had no choice, I love vsing armies with those "deathstar" units my deceiver eats them up.

Well necrons need to be brutal to stand a chance in most games.
