My fiancee has kindly offered to buy me some stuff from Forgeworld for Christmas. I'm thinking a few sets of Red Scorpions conversion kits to change my old Salamanders army into a Red Scorpions army (their armour looks completely badass, is cheaper than buying 8+ boxes of mark IV power armour models, and utilizes my current Space Marines). However, I'm worried about shipping time. She said to order them about early November... how long does Forgeworld take to ship?

I swear it took about two weeks for me and I'm in the UK!
I think it depends on wether they have to make a fresh resin model or weather they have it stocked up.

Gathering the Informations.

Week and a half is about normal for stuff to get from them in Nottingham to me in North Carolina, on the US East Coast, if I order on a Monday.

Same here, my Tyranid Warrior wings came in about a week and a half. That said, I think nickmund hit the nail on the head:

Just don't order a Manta and you'll be fine. Of course, there is no harm in ordering early!

It probably takes just as long to assemble as it does to cast all the parts!

Good to know. Considering ordering early November will give the stuff about 6 weeks to get here, that should be plenty of time. As for them needing to cast more... Red Scorpions are the newest of their range. Shouldn't they have plenty?

Hmm Im not sure. They not that new, the Raven Guard stuff is newer, the Red scorpions stuff came out last year I think.

I ordered Solomon Lok and the servitor last year, they were about as old, then, as the Red Scorpions are now.
I'm pretty sure the Red Scorpions are in much higher demand though, so they will probably be stocked up.

Either way, 6 weeks should be good.

Might even throw some of my own stuff in there. 2 pairs of Tyranid Warrior wings.

I'm hoping one will see the thread. But right now, it's work hours in Australia. And anyone who has ordered from Forgeworld, well, probably has a job.

Australia

Hi

I've ordered from Forgeworlds for the first time a couple of months ago and my order only took a couple of weeks to arrive. Keep in mind though that my order was fairly light (Lord Zhufor + Terminator kit + landraider doors) and I only used standard shipping. Shipping during November/December will mostly likely be more congested than normal. Also the post where I live is pretty decent. I’ve had stuff from the UK only take 1 week whereas the postal system in some places in Australia, like Perth, is terrible as everything there to be routed to Sydney first.

Hope this helps

I'll do the order anyway, and if it arrives after Christmas... Then I'll just get a late Christmas present.

I don't think the order will be massive. The Red Scorpions Librarian kit, 4 tactical kits and an assault marine kit.

6 weeks shoudl be more than enough - the RS stuff is popular, but not so popular that you will be on a waiting list (like the Macharius hull tanks)

Remember: if you have any issues at all once it arrives ring them (f possible) and chat on the phone - their email response times are terrible, however over the phone they are normally MORE than helpful. 6 months after ordering the Revenant for my partner he discovered it was missing the left arm - or, more precisely, had two right arms. Got the replacement arm the next day, Special Delivery, no fuss or bother.

I've convinced myself to continue collecting Salamanders, and just not abuse Vulkan. So my Forgeworld plans have changed. Now I'll be getting some Iron Armour space marines for Sternguard and a Winged hive Tyrant for my Tyranids. Hopefully this still won't take too long to get here.
