I'm new to WHFB and would just like to see what is the ruling on panic tests on war machines. I did a quick scan of the forums and didn't come up with an answer but apologise if this has been answered or overly newbie that it didn't need to be posted.
Would losing wounds on a war machine (in case you remove crew) cause the war machine to take a panic test if it lost more than 25% of its crew? This coming from an in game occurance where I lost 2 crew to shooting and it was contentious if they had to take a panic test to see if they could shoot next turn.
An extract from the rulebook says "The crew are used only to indicate the remaining number of wounds and the number of attacks the war machine can make in close combat,..."
So should I be treating it as
a) a unit of 3 crew and 1 war machine lose 50% of their numbers hence forcing a panic test or
b) a single war machine has lost 2 wounds out of 3 wounds on the war machine hence not needing a test

b. The crew arent really there, and dont really do anything except show you how many woundsleft, and how many attacks you have in CC.

Concur. Imagine a single ogre taking 2 wounds. That's 66.7% of it's wounds, more than 25%... but no panic test.
War machines are single models with fancy wound counters.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”
